Maybe the new company will be more into your alt-right fantasy of segregating players by race.

I think that this is the beginning of the end for OOTP Developments. I hope that they prove me wrong, but I just can’t see a scenario where OOTP benefits from more micro-transactions which comes with Com2Us.

I’m praying that OOTP 22 is still the regular OOTP team’s work, and not much of Com2Us’s work. Maybe OOTP 23 can still be a good game, but beyond there is almost a definite decline.

Markus, prove me wrong.

Sorry, but just got clued in to the news.
First and foremost, congratulations to Markus and Andreas and the rest of the OOTP team, they have created something of true value. Our community has recognized that for a long time, and now change is coming because the same thing is being recognized in a financial manner. That is the business world. IMO the OOTP team has earned our trust as consumers over the past 20+ years, and I will continue to trust them. Like many of you I do not know their new owners and so I cannot trust the new owners until they also earn my trust, but I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as we start this next chapter in the history of this game that we all enjoy so much.
The OOTP team has built a game that has given me thousands of hours of enjoyment. They have been responsive to this community well beyond the boundaries of average companies with respect to quality, improvement, flexibility and cost, and we should all take this moment to appreciate the fact that it could have been quite different.

If it had been any different, I wouldn't have been discovering the MLB Dream Bracket quickstarts on the OOTP21 General Discussions forum today. (Those stickied threads, due to their ubiquity, sometimes produce a forest/trees effect.)

Do a Google search on "MLB Dream Bracket" and see how many sports news outlets were reporting on this besides MLB themselves: SI, CBS Sports, Deadspin, and of course DraftKings, to name a few.

One question I do have or something I was wondering about, is additional resources that this company brings to OOTP.

Aside from letting Markus and company focus more on development, which is itself is a big plus, I wonder if the new company sees an ROI opportunity in adding some resources to improve things that tend to be resource drains, like the 3D / in-game experience.

A bit early still I know, and sort of a loaded question as well, but is there anything the team can share about that? If so, will we see some of that impact with OOTP 22?

I'm also late to the party. I always told myself, if I ever won a mega millions lottery (talking like half a billion), I would make Markus an offer and would pump millions into development. I guess now if I ever won, I'd have to pry it away from com2evil or whatever they're called.

Well deserved Markus and team. If you're happy, I'm happy for you. I will share your optimism. I still hate PT and all other microtransaction modes, but I get it.

My question is:

Are there going to be any changes to the beta-testing process such as, professional game testers rather than a community based beta?

I'm sure most of us old-timers are happy to see you guys get what you want out of this new deal with the Korean company.

As a boxing fan I'm hoping someone at your end sees an upside to saving Title Bout Championship Boxing from the programming quagmire it's currently bogged down in and giving it new life. Some have been playing Title Bout since before there were computers (almost) and would like to see it live on in a newly revamped form.

Good luck to you all.

1. Small company sells out to big company.
2. Big company insists nothing will change.
3. Things change.

I hope we don't see more microtransactions with the changes... It is the worst thing to happen to sports games imo. Also, hope to see the historical and fictional play not suffer. A huge thing would be if the new company could make it possible to house online leagues on their servers and we could actually manage out our games h2h with other owners. That would be amazing!

I'm wondering if this will allow historical stadiums and uniforms to update automatically. I don't buy every year because I don't want to have to go through the hassle of reimporting and updating my historical stadiums and uniforms.

If this was automatically included, I'd buy every year. Any way this can be done?

Is this the new game? I'm not seeing OOTP mentioned anywhere on the COM2US website?

I assume you're referring to this? 9 Innings GM appears to be just a mobile game. I'm only speculating, but this could be OOTP Go will be.

I think you are correct, given the text.

"Meet the new MLB 9 Innings GM, a mobile baseball"

"management game fully licensed by MLBAM and MLBPA."

Hmm, I don't think so guys, given the game is already available with 2020 players and has 7688 reviews on Google Play Store...

Wow just found this out as I've not been on the boards over the past year. My heart sank until I found this post, but felt a little sad all the same as I have been playing this game since OOTP2 when it was sent to me on CD if I recall. OOTP has come a long way. So felt a little sad as its been a journey or progress but change is inevitable. Glad Markus and Andreas are staying. Well done gentlemen

If I purchase OOTP21, does Com2Us get any money? I was going to purchase OOTP 22 this year, but seeing the Com2Us acquisition, I just can’t give any money to that company with a clean conscience. If however purchases of OOTP 21 are grandfathered in where all profits go to the team that developed OOTP pre-Com2Us, I’m going to buy that version and just play while it lasts.
