2021 Expansion Draft ready QuickStart

First time OOTPer, first time poster. This QuickStart has been my labor of love over the last week or so and it just felt wrong not to share it. This is NOT tested so user beware, but I've gotten from the Sep. 27 Live Start to now so I hope it's going OK. I admit to backtracking a couple times as I figured out the program. Here are the highlights:

*One AL and One NL expansion team ready for you to draft. I am creating the Indiana Eagles and then I "promoted" the Charlotte Knights and used their logo.

*This DOES include the reorganized minor leagues with my own personal touches. I "drafted" a few minor league teams to my expansion teams, so I didn't create any new minor league teams with all the moving parts. I did shift a few other (mostly lower level) teams around to fill in the gaps, for example I think I put the Durham Bulls as Charlotte's AAA team, which create a small ripple effect as I replaced their spot in their former parent organizations, etc. I tried to keep those to a minimum so that it is still very close to real-world associations.

*The rookie leagues were annoying me and I teach math and like symmetry. Each MLB club gets a team in each of the three Rookie Leagues. Done.

*All other unaffiliated minor league teams were dropped to independent leagues, which completed my universe. This is USA (North America) only, sorry. No summer college leagues or whatever they're doing with the independents now. I just kept all the teams alive somehow and figured I'd play with them later.

*Gave it my best effort to get all accurate roster transactions through February 5. I didn't have the patience to go through every minor league contract signed but tried to get all the majors. I moved players around by going into player editor. I did NOT update MOST FA contracts signed, though I did get several big ones (Bauer, Pederson, Springer come to mind). I think this means that as you play, you will have to keep an eye on "Free Agents" popping up in the weeks following the expansion draft. Just for those who have the same desire for detail and accuracy that I have. My plan is to fix them as they come up if they're important enough. I think I will update signings as I play... I just want to start playing

*Final note I can think of which may turn some folks off: I did hit "re-rate rosters" before I saved this QuickStart, so it used the 60-game season to adjust player ratings. Sorry if that ruined some of your favorite players. You can go back in and fix them yourself. The biggest knock I saw was on Jose Altuve, and you know, Dodgers fan, trash-can cheater, I didn't care.

What kept this labor of love going for me was to catch up on the real-world in which my Dodgers are defending their World Series title.

Enjoy and while I don't mind feedback, I don't think that I will be updating this any further, but I think it's an excellent starting point if you want to update transactions from Feb. 5!

I zipped the QuickStart folder to my Google Drive, and here's the link... ? ::shrug:: Haven't done this before.

A couple quick things to add... make sure you double-check things like playoffs, DH rules, roster expansion dates, etc...

Thanks! Weird... one restart I had to do was a hiccup because some of the minor leagues started right after the WS... thankfully I had a pre-saved QS that got me in front of that without losing any work

I read you shifted a few minor league teams about.

I’m gonna have to steal your idea

Why do I have to submit every teams protection list? It also lets me control every team even if I am not in commissioner mode?

I am taking my sweet time with the expansion draft, but I have noticed that I can't seem to get out of Commissioner Mode either... will try to finish the expansion draft tonight and see if I can offer an insight... reminder that this is literally the first time I have played OOTP after being a console guy forever. Closest I've ever come was playing Baseball Mogul 10-15 years ago...

To get out of Commish mode, simply create another user who is not playing in Commish mode, then take over whoever you want as that user. Ensure that all the teams are set to "fire human manager, let computer run every team" in settings, then use your newly created manager to manage who you want.

Or just go to Manager Options and untick the box that says "Play in Commisioner mode"

You can access Manager Options by clicking the gear under your initials (right hand border) or by clicking your name at the top, it should be one of the dropdown options there.
