I'm reposting the uniforms for the Khemsi Jumblers that I posted in at least one other thread here, and adding a cap I just made for them to their set, for your viewing. They will be in the top level of the IPA, at least at first, when it comes to my version of it, anyway. That is all. CD out.

Am now working on setting up the next level of the IPA framework. However, for some reason, when I tried to import certain uniforms and caps for one of the teams, the game didn't let me import them when the file names had an accent on them, when they possibly had before, in at least one other version of OOTP and/or in the current dynasty I'm basing this quickstart on. I'm thinking it's possibly a glitch or something, when file names including accents have worked before, if memory serves, at least a few times, for sure. Thoughts, anyone?

EC, I'm going to ask how certain files can be zipped and sent to people, or shared somewhere, I think, and then we can proceed as desired with certain matters, as time permits and all. The needed IPA framework seems to be completed now. However I will still need at least a few graphics for most of the teams in said framework, most with the same names as those currently in EC's IPA, or which were once used in it. Will likely add at least one Japan-based league to the mix, as well, come to think of it, if not more than one.

I currently have 248 teams in 14 leagues, with five of those leagues being major leagues, at present, if memory serves. But would have to check to be sure, I think. After I finish adding all the teams and leagues to the mix for this planned quickstart here, I will add the cities for any needed fictional country I will have players coming from as best as I can, and as quickly as I can.

Many of these teams may have generic logos and other items for them at present, but I'll still see what I can do well enough by my birthday next week. Seeing as I'm having trouble getting more work done at present on my stories, it seems, I've been spending a good deal of time working on this sort of matter whenever and however I get the chance, and all, folks.

CD, before I do a lot of work on creating the Blue Sox players from Duane Decker's books, you need to know something... I did not put all of the Blue Sox players on the same team... they are too good to be on the same team... no one would beat them.

You need to just make them part of the draft... or assign them yourself to teams.

Do you have a list of all the Blue Sox players I gave you?... I need it to find the ratings for you.

Related to this, do you know how to import major league players from the Baseball-Reference database?... that would make it easier for me to create the Blue Sox players for you... I could use a major league player that was similar to the Blue Sox player.

For example: Hank Aaron would be Kenny Willard, a 5-tool player that could do it all... hit for average with power... good speed... good arm.
Import Hank Aaron and then change his name to Kenny Willard... would this system work for creating Blue Sox players for you?

These are the players I'm looking for, at least, from the Blue Sox series of books by Duane Decker. But if you think of others, please feel free to include them as well. I filled the other fifteen teams in the North American Baseball Association with selected other historical players. I don't have the lists of players for those teams in front of me at the moment. But hopefully, even if the Blue Sox get all the players listed above, I think the other teams wouldn't necessarily be outmatched by Nashville here as a general rule, somehow.

Yes, I know how to import many players using BB-Ref id codes, but am evidently unable at present to import certain *** players into the game, specifically Japanese Hall of Famer-type players like Sadaharu Oh, for example. I'd like to include these players into my games and assign them to specific teams, but can't at present, unfortunately. I posted about the import-related issue earlier, but nobody has yet responded to my post regarding it, as well.

The year in question that this dynasty/quickstart will begin in is the 1901 calendar year, just so you know, EC. This quickstart is still being developed from an updated version of my Baseball Heaven dynasty first created in OOTP 18, by the way. Although the players on the other NABA teams are from all eras of baseball history, in truth. If you like and can, please feel quite free to use up to about thirty or so players from all eras to model the above-listed players on, then, please. Thank you. CD out.

If I can get the Japanese players importable into a game that I'd like to import, such as Sadaharu Oh, for example, I will create at least one Japanese league and put them on the needed teams as best as I can for said league or leagues. But right now, I'm having some trouble importing a number of those players, in truth. And it's a bit frustrating, too. I know others have somehow been able to get them into their games, but I still haven't been able to, unfortunately.

I want to have at least sixteen, but no more than twenty, leagues in the game setup for this particular dynasty/quickstart by the time I'm done with all the work I can do for it well enough here. Uniforms and caps probably won't necessarily be a problem for me to make, where and when needed and all, but logos and parks I probably won't generally be able to create myself, of course.

As for Hank Aaron, he has been placed on the Boston Braves. But there's absolutely nothing at all that's preventing another player from being modeled on him, of course. He can easily be re-imported into the game where needed and possible, you know. As can any other player in the database, for that matter.

One of the divisions in one of the leagues under my IPA framework will be named after him. You'll see what I mean when I start posting as appropriate for the relevant dynasty, I'm sure, folks.

Yes, I think it could, if done right, EC, by either of us. Thanks for the offer. Feel free to proceed as you wish. I believe the NABA will include historical players in the future December amateur drafts, as well. Just like any number of other leagues, but would have to check the relevant leagues to be completely sure of that for each one.

As for Jug Slavin, I don't know how I'd go about creating him, although I suppose it would require me to create another human GM/Manager-type person, most likely. Please let me know how you created Jug, if you can, and what you set his preferences at, et cetera, okay? Thanks. CD out.

CD, I have found about 26 Blue Sox mentioned in the Duane Decker book series.

I will find a major league player that has ratings and stats similar to each Blue Sox player.

You will import the MLB historical player to the Free Agents screen, then just change the real player's name to the Blue Sox player's name and place him on the Blue Sox roster.

Do you know how to import a player from the Baseball-Reference Database into the Free Agents screen in OOTP?

I want to make sure you can do this before I start researching all of these players.. it will take me a few days to do this.

Also will you actually play this league?... if you are just going to set it up and never play it, I don't want to waste my time.

No Japanese players will be involved in this... you will not have to import a Japanese player to represent a Blue Sox player.

You will only have to import MLB players from the historical database in the game.

Do you know how to import MLB players from the historical database?

For instance, on the Free Agents screen, if you want to import Hank Aaron, you would use "aaronha01" to import him... you will have to give his first year in the majors, 1954... and not import his historical stats... you don't want them included in your game's history.

Hank Aaron will not be on the Blue Sox...he can be on the Boston Braves... his ratings will just be used for Kenny Willard, who is a player similar to Aaron in talent and stats.

You would import Aaron and just change his name to Kenny Willard and place him on the Blue Sox roster.

Jug Slavin was a star shortstop before he was manager of the Blue Sox... I would let him play on the team and later become the manager.

I can create ratings for him by importing Nomar Garciaparra as the Blue Sox player representing Slavin.

I know nothing about his strategies as a manager... just use default settings in the game... he was probably "old school".

Post 585 of this thread hopefully answers your questions about whether I know how to import a player using the Baseball-Reference ID for them, et cetera, EC. As for whether I'll play it, I certainly will. I've already created a human manager for the NABA's St. Louis Scouts in this particuilar dynasty/planned quickstart. Which I obviously wouldn't have done if I didn't intend to play it out, right?

Please feel free to take whatever time you need, then, to find the necessary players. We've still got time, I'm sure, before my birthday in less than a week, in any case. I am hoping to finish doing all the work I can on this planned quickstart by my birthday on Thursday, but it still could take at least a little while longer than that to do so, in truth. Depending on how easy it is for me to find graphics for teams and/or leagues, or make them, if they haven't been made or collected yet by me, of course.

I won't be able to make the parks in 3D, nor the necessary logos that may not yet be made or collected, probably. But I'll certainly do all the work I can on this setup, in any case, just like I have been trying to do for a while, EC. I've got most of the leagues, if not all the leagues, I have in mind for this dynasty/potential quickstart already created in it, and set up as I'd like them to be, it seems. But I still have a good deal of additional work to do for this dynasty/planned quickstart. Once I have all the teams and leagues-related things set up as best as I can, I'll input the necessary data for the new fictional cities and/or nations into the game as possible, which might not take too long at all, if all goes sufficiently according to plan for me here.

I'll at least add Slaabovia and Ruthlandia and Tycobbia to the mix, in terms of fictional nations, I think, if not others as well, for this particular dynasty/planned quickstart. I will definitely need to use national flags for both Ruthlandia and Tycobbia, though, to make sure that everything is set up properly, when it comes to the IPA for it. What time zone would you perhaps say the cities of the IPA are most likely in, for your original version of it, as well? Please advise, so I can place them accordingly, if you like and can. You just let me know which players you used, and anything else I need to know, related to them, and I'll go from there as needed, as best as I can. Please try to remember to choose them so that they're as young as possible when they begin their professional careers, even if you have to use the minor league database IDs for them to do that, okay? Thank you.

Look for a thread that I posted about zipping things a while back, please, and let me know if and when you are able to zip up enough of the graphics needed for the teams in my IPA, okay? There will be four levels to the IPA, and most of the teams I'm including from your version of the IPA will have the same team names. But not all. The places with team name changes will be as follows:

Belle Plaine will be the Paladins, with several items made by low sometime back being used for them.

Hillsboro in this IPA will be the Historians, seeing as the Blazers will be under the Core States League-related framework. I have at least uniforms, if not also caps, made for them now, but do not have logos for them yet.

Waleska will be the Penmen, with Robo-made items from his looks for the SNHU Penmen for his college-related project.

Forest City will be the Oaks, but I haven't yet made or decided on which graphics to use for them that aren't generic ones. Will keep you posted.

Cold Creek will be the Choppers, with several items made by low for the Syracuse Choppers being used for them.

Kilkenny will be the Knights, but I haven't yet found or made items for them that I think would be best for them. Will let you know what I find or make, and if I make some items for them, they'll likely be put in this thread, of course.

Grand City will be the Giants, and I've already made at least uniforms for them, if not also caps, based on my attempts at doing some items for The Lone Thrashers Fan related to his San Diego Giants request thread(s). The Cybercats will probably have to wait for a while in the applicable dynasty, if I manage to get to the 1950s or so, at least, I think.

Hartsdale in this IPA will be called the Hunters, but I haven't yet decided on their looks at the start of things here. May use some of low's Hunters-related items, in truth, for them, at least at first. I'm not going to use the H@llcats name, though, but Hepcats or something similar might be possible somewhere along the line, if enough seasons get played, somehow.

Southport will be the Gold Sox, but I'm not sure about their looks either yet. Will keep you posted as well, obviously, on things related to them. Maybe just a few modifications to their logos and uniforms might be needed to reflect the changed team name, I think, at best, just so you know. Maybe the orange could be replaced with gold or something? Just a thought, that's all.

I'll let you know the exact listing of teams and/or leagues, et cetera, in each level of the planned IPA framework that I have in mind currently through PMs, so that I don't clog up the forums needlessly, hopefully, somehow. I wouldn't need everything you have for certain IPA franchises, I'm sure, but others, it might not be a bad idea to include more items for, I think.
