Jump starting negotiations

When a player says he doesnt want to discuss a contract -- doesnt like the manager or youve pissed him off by low alling -- is there anyway to force start negotiations like if you realize you want to make him a REALLY good offer - an offer he can refuse? Is there some way to shove an offer in front of him?

Thanks

Wait a few days, maybe up to a week, and sometimes they'll negotiate again. But there's no way to force an offer if they don't want to negotiate. You just have to wait until they're willing again.

The thing that's kind of annoying is that it seems like they carry over their morale from their previous team with them when you trade for them. I traded for Manuel Margot at the deadline and he came over angry and has just stayed angry the entire time. I suppose he could be pissed at my team too now. But at no point ever was he willing to even receive an extension offer and since his contract expires at the end of the season I guess that's it. He's just gone. Just seems like maybe a reset when a player joins a new team could be in order.

Ironically just after I posted this the player , Byron Buxton who has been decent came back and said again he wants an extension and wants to stay. I made an offer that was reasonable although not 100% of the ask - and better than the low ball i gave the first time aeround and his response? I dont want to talk about this now. not even the initial this doesnt cut it.

Go figure

This was my favorite negotiation sequence:
