2D Engine Discussion/Questions/Suggestions A single forum for posts about the new 2D match engine. so we can keep that better-organized. Bug reports should still go in the regular Technical Support/Bug Reports forum, but if you're not sure if something is a bug, either forum is fine.

Empty net non-goal

Have seen a few different times now when a game is close and the goalie is pulled the other team doesn't shoot into the open net.

Instead they take the puck and all crowd around the untended net and it looks like they just play keep away from the other team instead of just putting the puck in the empty net.

Not sure if this is just a way to keep the number of ENG to a reasonable number or something but it certainly looks rather odd.

Yeah, I just changed the logic there a couple of days ago to fix that, but it was after the update so it'll be changed in the next one.

Just had a weird situation in my 78/79 replay-

First game of year for Rangers vs Flyers- they led 5-3 going into last minute;

Empty-netter by Greg Polis with 10 seconds left made it 6-3

Then, the Flyers left goalie on bench, and with 4 seconds left, Don Murdoch scored ANOTHER ENG to make it 7-3...

This would certainly never happen...

On settings, (tactics) you can determine speed with which teams lift goalies in 1- or 2-down goal situations...

Nothing about 3 G down, especially with hardly any time left...

A bug?

Thanks
Swede

Not to sound like a dick, but my god, Jeff wrote this exactly ONE POST below this one:

"Yeah, we should probably disable that when there's a very short time remaining."

Yeah, he should've gone back in after the sixth goal, we'll check what went wrong there.
