FHM7 Hotfix 7.2.106 Now Available

A new hotfix update for Franchise Hockey Manager 7, version 7.2.106, has just been released, primarily to fix an issue that was causing crashes for a number of users.

To apply the update:

-If you are playing the FastSpring version, just download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course.
-If you are playing the Steam version, the game will auto-update if you have that option active. If you don't see the update in your Steam update queue, you may need to exit and restart your Steam client.

Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game.

The main fix in this hotfix is a lineup issue that was causing a crash for some users who had a very specific combination of game settings. This should resolve the vast majority of mysterious crashes while attempting to advance the game. Additionally, we fixed a potential issue with the 2014 Olympics not finishing properly due to a team being placed in two different spots in the medal round playoffs

Just an interesting observation - after the hotfix the training camp development report seems to be reporting in full - gotta luv software

Weird, I am still getting a two- or three-person report even after the upgrade.

Also, Jeff R, for future consideration, wouldn't it make more sense for that big training camp report (and recalibration of players' abilities) to come after the training camp as opposed to after the summer holidays?

Will you be adding the ability to coach either team, specifically in exhibition mode? (or all modes). Right now, like last year, you could only coach the home team.

Hi Jeff,

I'm having no success after the 2 updates to correct crashes... To date, these are all historical leagues (I like coaching only and am not involved in any day-to-day GM activities and I play in commish mode) I've created:
60-61 crash
61-62 crash
67-68 OK, no problems
68-69 crash

I wanted to conduct a historical replay commencing w/ the 60-61 season and work in chronological order... I've had prior iterations of OOTP through steam, and am wondering if perhaps FHM7 might work for me through steam?

Hi, I seem to be having some problems after this update. Various things are blank in my save game - messages, trophy icons, and just about everything during the 2d engine. The camera still moves around and the play goes on, but it's nothing but the team logo. I've attached some screenshots. Thanks!

Try going to the start screen, then Settings, and switch the skin to whichever one you're currently not using. Then exit, restart, switch it back, and exit and restart once more. That usually fixes graphics issues like that.

So I fixed it, but it seems like it was a fairly bizzare issue. I tried your suggestion but it didn't work. So I thought to look in the rink graphics folder of the save file - empty. the awards graphic file had a bunch of the game events .DAT files in it, and weirdest of all, the personnel pics file had a bunch of files for my work in it lol.

I'm not sure how this happened, if it had something to do with the update. On the one hand, I hadn't played it since before the update, but on the other, i've never seen or heard anything like that happening before from an update.

Fwiw, it seems that it was only that one save file. An earlier file still had all the graphics, and the opening day file appears to as well, so I have no idea. But thank you for the reply in any case!

Hoping there's a roster update released that will coincide with the start of the new season and includes recent waiver acquisitions, and RFA & UFA signings. If so - can you also add Tampa's 2021 2nd to Montreal to reflect accuracy (source: https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/canadiens) and remove the Coyotes 2021 1st which was forfeited to the league.
