Oates in Vault
This was originally in a very old Vault Folder AN, which was one of the earliest to have watermarks but almost all were in VERY low resolution.
This is the one in our file. Looks to be same as yours. AN 303 |

Yeah, I noticed that since the New Year... Maybe this encourage folks, like me, to post more
responses than using the simple 'Thank You' button... I noticed my total "Thank You" stats are no longer there... I'm guessing this may propel me into the OOTP Hall of Fame bracket, one of these days, from the All Star Starter...

Lukas Berger:
Hi folks! We just wanted to let you know that we've had to disable the 'thank you' feature for posts. This is because there were some security issues with it that hackers could exploit when attacking the forums. Given that it appears there is not a update to the feature currently available that removes the vulnerability, we don't necessarily envision being able to reactivate the feature any time soon, unless there is an update to the forum software that comes along ![]() We know this isn't a change for the better and lots of you will be very sad to see the feature go (myself first of all, as I was one of the most prolific thankers of posts in the community ![]() If you like someone's post and agree with it, please feel free just to create a short response now and tell them. Thanks so much for understanding

Thanks for the info about the software, Jabez. Let's hope we'll get the button back when they update it.

As I, as well... to me, not sure why the 'thank you' button would be the ONLY one that can be an issue from these hackers... doesn't makes sense but what do I know for I don't seek to do these evil ways... and you're welcome!

This is pure speculation (I don't know anything about how OOTP manages its forum software), but I'm guessing that the "thank you" function might have been a third-party mod that hasn't been updated. Various php packages like vBulletin (the software package used here), Wordpress, etc. have many third-party add-ons/enhancements which may or may not be updated as time goes on. Wordpress, for example, will update its software several times a year, often to address security issues. I would guess that vBulletin does the same. If the 'thank you" function was/is a third-party add-on, it might well have been secure once upon a time, but no longer is with later versions of the main forum software package. Or not... ![]() |

Thank you for your deeper insight of how these php packages could work to the advantages of the hackers... It's a shame, that there are folks, with nothing better to do but be self-entertained, to waste their energy in hacking these wonderful sites... I'm just dumbfounded, even with a button, that they could wreck havoc...
Again, thank you for the insight and especially your contribution of all you have done here

Rolando Roomes Montreal Expos
Roomes played in 16 games for the Expos in 1990.
All I had was a black and white picture of his back showing his name and number. I found this picture on eBay on sale by seller katt884. Last edited by Expos 1969-2004; 01-12-2021 at 09:20 PM. |

Harrison Peppers 1894
Facepack upgrade, pictured with the 1895 St. Paul Saints. Peppers got into 2 games for the 1894 Louisville Colonels and was not overly effective.

Eddie Boyle 1896
Here's another option for Boyle, circa 1895 when he was playing for the St. Paul Saints.

Facepack upgrade, pictured with the 1895 St. Paul Saints. Note that the current Baseball Reference image does not picture Camp (it shows Frank Genins).
