Player Decline

Just curious how player decline actually works. I noticed with for instance veteran defenseman declining in defensive read. I can see them declining physically like speed and other related categories but not in an area like this. Maybe even increase in defensive read and hockey sense type categories. Never really paid attention to this before

When a player starts to decline, they will go down in a variety of areas. The one difference is with veteran players as you can fight back a little more with things in that category for them to improve or stave it off longer.
