League Promotion Bug?

In my current save, I am the GM of Vasterviks IK in the HockeyAllsvenskan. In my most recent season, we finished 8th and were eliminated in the pre-playoff playoff (7 seed plays 10 seed, 9 seed plays 8 seed, best of 3). Curiously, as of July 1, 2022, Vasterviks IK has been promoted to the SHL!

Also of note, the owner's message that the player receives every year on July 1 (outlining goals, budget, etc.) does not seem to realize that I've been promoted: the outlined budget is in line with a second tier league budget and the info regarding the transfer deadline still references the HA. However, my budget in the team finance screen has actually been increased to a level commensurate with a typical SHL team.

The only possible connection I can think of is this: My team did play the team that had previously been relegated from the SHL in the preliminary playoff round. There's no other connection to the SHL that I'm aware of.
I am hoping there is a way to reset the game state so that the proper team is promoted and my team remains in the second tier league.

It is still only July 1 in-game. I did make a couple contract offers to FA's in case the situation can't be fixed, but I'm hoping there's a simple save file edit or something along those lines that can be done to correct the situation before continuing.

Could you upload that save (uploading instructions here)? I checked a few test saves and promotion to the SHL seems to be working properly in them, so I'd like to see exactly what went wrong there, and we may be able to fix the save for you.

Ok, I've just uploaded it. I named it "promotion_save"

Got it, thanks. No idea how this could've happened, MODO should have been the one going up, and I can't see any reason why they wouldn't. We'll have to look through that history and try to see what went wrong.

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to undo it that isn't likely to break something else, so you're definitely in the SHL for this season. The budget number in your finances screen is accurate - the message from the owner was from the day before the change, before you got the extra money from being promoted.
