HOF Plaque Bug

Any ideas why my HOF has a few players whose plaques don't load? I've tried deleted and regenerating them but the game won't even generate baseball cards for these players (it's several; I've just pictured a couple).

do all of the players that are missing plaques have accents in their names? I know there use to be a problem with the font set that we used for the plaques and it showed up weird, but never seen it cause the plaque to not render. If it's a pattern at least we have a place to start looking.

Yes! That's the pattern! Nicely spotted. Never noticed that. Is there a way to fix it?

huh. you know what, looking at my game, I don't see any accents on names anywhere. What font set are you using by the way? I have mine on the default...Fira Sans Condensed.

That's the same font I'm using. I probably the decision many years ago to keep accent marks.

(BTW: I edited one player to remove the accent mark and it fixed the problem. So that's clearly the issue.)

Would this have been an old save that you've imported from previous versions? Here was a post from 19 about the names txt file being saved in one particular encoding format vs another (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...hlight=accents). I'm guessing the names files default to UTF now? maybe your old save was still unicode. I know none of this solves your problem if you actually want accents to show...but at least we've narrowed it down a bit and you can log a bug report and see if it can be handled better in 22
