Whose ratings are reflected more in player performance?
OSA and my scout differ on most players, usually by anywhere from 5-15 on the 20-80 scale with respect to various skills. When they make a change that I see in my player development report, I've noticed that the resulting stats in the editor often reflect those changes (i.e., if a guy is bumped 5 points for contact, his resulting stats BA will go up 10 points, etc.).
My question is whose ratings have more effect on those resulting stats? OSA's or my scout's? Or is it a blend? In other words, should I be more concerned (or excited) when OSA makes a change or when it's my scout? |

OSA is supposed to be kind of like a generic ranking. Think Baseball America putting out prospect lists. Whereas your scout is a dedicated professional team. In theory, your scout should always be more accurate. But I've heard a lot of people say that in this game, OSA is quite accurate when it comes to potential. Moreso than is intended, perhaps. I would lean on the scout for *current* ratings. But for potential ratings I tend to look at both my scout and OSA and figure the truth may be somewhere in between.
