Too Many Back to Back Games Generated

I saw in our local paper that the Hawks schedule was posted. Even with a condensed schedule of 56 games they had about 6 back to back games total.

My current FHM7 2021 schedule has at least three back to back games per month. It's getting so I feel I'm playing my backup goalie almost half the time.

Also it really grinds down your team playing 4 games in 5 days with regularity, even though I roll all four lines pretty much.

This is my September 2021, note only two single games and SIX back to backs make up the month. While pre-season has always leaned toward a lot of back to backs I start the season with 7 game in 10 days. It's a real challenge.

How many back to backs are you getting total for the season ? Too many is relative. I wouldn't count the preseason games because those are randomly generated and always have 2 sets of back to back and a total of 7 games. But go ahead and count how many back to backs you have. A few years ago IRL, Ottawa and Pittsburgh led the league with 19 total back to backs each throughout the entire season. If your total is way above that, then that's definitely a problem. Otherwise, it's just a quirk of the generation that made it that way for a bit.

I have 20 this season. I believe that having half of your season decided in back to back game is, in fact, too many.

And as it's pointed out, it's not uncommon in an NHL season for it to be that.

If you would prefer, you can now create your own schedule by import/export on July 1st. Feel free to play around with that!

And you can feel free to tweak this so I don't follow a 20 back-to-backs season with one with 24 on the schedule!

Make sure you make a back up on July 1st before editing the schedule. If you make a mistake in editing, you won't find out about it till opening night when teh game crashes.
