FHM 7 not detecting screen resolution properly

When I start FHM 7, it indicates that the screen resolution is not sufficient. I have a new laptop with a 4k display. This may also be the cause of the screen shimmer issue that occurs when playing a game. Attached is the trace file.

It looks like it sees you have an adequate screen size, but I'm wondering if the Windows screen scaling is at something larger than 100% and that's causing the problem - if you right-click on the desktop, select display, and then scroll down a bit, is the first dropdown menu udner "Scale and Layout" set to something other than 100%? If so, try changing it to 100 and see if that lets you load the game.

When I change the scaling to !00%, the game works perfectly. Unfortunately, the game only occupies a small portion of the screen and the text is almost unreadable.

Try switching the Window Size from the Settings option on the start screen - your display should be big enough to use any of them, so try a bigger one like 2560x1600 or 1920x1200.

The game works fine on the highest resolution setting 2560x1600 for FHM 7 when I use the highest display resolution of 3840x2160 with 150% scaling. The only issue is that the text is very small on the desktop and in the windows.

Could you post or send me a screenshot of your whole desktop with the game open? I'd like to see exactly what it looks like.

The game screenshot with maximum resolution and scaling set to 150% is attached. It looks reasonable to me. This solves the screen shimmer issue for me too. The only issue is that the text on other windows, like the Snip and Sketch tool used to take the screenshot, is very small.

Overall, FHM 7 looks to be a big improvement over the last version that I owned (FHM 5). Thank you for your assistance.

A possibly better way to do it is to set high DPI compatibility settings on fhm7.exe to "Scaling controlled by: System". Then you can set the game to fullscreen and whatever resolution you want and the game should show that resolution with everything scaled properly.

Thank you! That is a much better solution.
