Tactical Tips for new to Game

Longtime OOTP player, first venture into FHM. Looking to get ramped up quickly, so looking for tactical tips and anything else veterans of the game might suggest.
Going to be playing as NJ Devils and my overall plan is to be young and aggressive offensively to try to take advantage of Hughes, Hischier, & Holtz and start acquiring young American players.
What are the best tactical strategies for this and what should I be doing to speed up the process? Thanks in advance for advice.

gosh - we could spend an hour talking about this but it is important to stick with a tactic for awhile before changing.
