Deleting years of history

Not a bug, so I didn't think this was supposed to go in technical support, I apologize if that is the right place for this question.

Is it possible to delete years from your game? I started a game with the Red Sox in 1901, and yet the franchise history goes back to 1882 somehow. I'd like to get rid of the years from 1882 to 1900

It’s the same way when you play with the White Sox. They have the Cubs records up through 1900. It’s annoying, and I don’t know how to fix it.

Go to League Settings-Functions and then click the final category in the left column under Reset Functions: Erase the Entire League History. (Note that this will also erase individual players' histories too.)

The problem with that is that it deletes the whole league and not just one franchise. The problem is that some of the multi-franchise cities have a problem when you start in 1901 where the AL teams gets the NL teams history, and there is no way to delete history just for that franchise.

True. For me, when I start in 1901, I just delete the entire history because I want to pretend that it all started in 1901, particularly since OOTP doesn't accurately portray what baseball history was like prior to that year. Hmm, when you start a new game, would unchecking the "Import complete history up to 1901" box do what you're looking for, or not because you're solely wanting this to only apply to one franchise?

Interestingly I read this thread when I'm also trying some things starting in 1901 and deleting previous history. Some of those old 19th Century records I'd rather not arbitrarily stand forever.

My question for others playing these early years... are you seeing odd SB/CS numbers? Most guys have a heck of a lot of caught stealings. Even guys with good stealing attributes. A good chunk of the guys I saw had success rates under 50%, but with large samples... like 50/55 SB/CS or something.

Maybe there actually was awful success rates in baseball back then, although I know caught stealing data wasn't tracked until later.
