The game just knows and it's spooky

I'm convinced OOTP knows when you're short on time and trying to squeeze in that one more game. Just this morning I'm playing a game between the 1962 Minnesota Twins and the New York Yankees. The Twins jump out to a 6-1 lead and their pitcher seems to have the Yankees baffled. I look at the clock and know I'm cutting it close, but with the game 6-1 and only an inning and a half left, I should be okay. Yup things are fine as the Yankees fail to score in the bottom of the 8th and the Twins go 123 in the top of the 9th. I start the bottom half of the inning......single, triple....oh oh. Next thing I know it's 6-6 and the Twins finally get the final out to end inning. Of course, the next thing I hear is, Honey we have to go! Ugh, I had to quickly sim out the finish. Yankees win 7-6 in 12. I'm sure this same process will repeat itself tomorrow morning and the next morning and the next.

There is an option to save a game in progress and resume it later. Use that next time, and you won't miss anything.

Or...You say, "I'm the man of this house!! We'll get going when I say we're going. Do you hear me, woman?" And then you quietly finish your game. It's as simple as that.

Of course, then you need to call a divorce lawyer because you know your wife was on the phone with one before you even finished that last sentence. But hey! You got the game finished and that's what matters. Oh, by the way...enjoy your new 500 sq. ft. apartment next to the train station.

I give out great advice...I know...There is no need to thank me.

I think you're spot on
When I'm pressed for time and decide to try and finish a game before leaving for work or something else it's almost assuredly going into extra innings. I'm sitting there thinking, "Dammit, not again!" and if I keep going then it's we're up - we're down 1-2-3, they're up - they're down 1-2-3 until I finally surrender to the whims of OOTP and simulate to the end so I'm not late. I usually save the game before the clock starts calling but sometimes you just want to play it out and suffer the consequences LOL.

Thankfully, it's not. Hopefully, nobody reading that post thinks I was being serious. I've been watching the Discovery Network channel ID lately...For those who may not know, it's sort of like 24/7 shows about real-life murders, kidnappings, etc. There are obviously a lot of re-enactments in many of the shows...which often contain some seriously bad acting and poorly written dialogue. What I wrote was inspired by a show I was watching at that moment.

I've been a victim of the OOTP late-game surprise several times.

If you're playing on a laptop make sure to tape your camera, OOTP loves seeing your frustrations!
