Almanac

I was hoping this would have been the year for the html almanac.

You guys told me you wanted to do one similar to OOTP, but I was disappointed when I didn't see it. Unless I overlooked it the only output was CSV

From what the OOTP guys tell us, the coding for an OOTP-style almanac is a big, ugly, time-consuming project that ate/eats a lot more development time than they'd like. Lots of fiddly little formatting to worry about. We're not at the point yet where we can use that many resources on a project that appeals to that narrow a selection of the userbase. We'll continue to improve the CSV exports, so there's at least the option to get the data out into a format you can manipulate.

@JeffR thanks for the response.
What does the CSV outputs actually readable? Most of the time when I look at CSV files I can't decipher them

I bought this game through steam and got disappointed with no HTML so I asked for a refund. I don't mind buying it again but I would like to make sure that things will actually work out this time.

The easiest way to view them is to load them into a spreadsheet. But you would need to do some work with the spreadsheet to combine the data into a form where they're really usable, e.g. have the player_skater_stats file show the team and player names rather than their ID numbers.

Ignoring the full almanac output feature like OOTP has for a moment would it be possible to at least enhance the way we can view the history of our leagues in FHM? With OOTP in game it is extremely easy and very smooth to scan through the history of every league. League champions, past season stats for all players and standings, awards, records, leaderboards and special accomplishments are all very easy to access for every league in your universe. Could you see FHM getting to the point where, something like that is viewable in game? The present system does give you most of that information but it is so time consuming and such a series of clicks required to find it and when you do find it and click on a player in your leaderboard for example, often the back button takes you all the way out and you have to start the search all over again instead of returning you to the list so you can view the next player.

Also for what is likely the vast majority of players - those of us who have no idea how to create a readable table combining all of the information from the various csv pages, is it possible to perhaps create a basic add-on type little program that will compile the info and output it some format we can read, maybe excel or google docs type spreadsheets or even a basic text file?

FHM has made great advancements through the versions with historical and fictional play. It would be nice if there was an easier way to allow the user to look back over all of the history the game creates.
