Amateur Draft Gets Disabled at Spring Training

I have no idea what's happening here. I started a historical season for 2019 (to continue playing into the future), and had checked "enable amateur draft" as well as "import historical rookies," hoping to get the 2020 draft class (which I have seen the game import the 2020 draft class before).

All of a sudden at the draft announcement, there were no players in the pool. I went into League Settings to find that "Enable Amateur Draft" was now UNCHECKED (was this a glitch of some sort?) and says I can't change until pre-season.

So I surpassed the draft that year, and then the next year made sure to check "Enable Amateur Draft" at the 2020 Pre-Season.

I kept periodically looking as I simmed during the pre-season to make sure it stayed checked, and noticed that all of a sudden after Spring Training starts, it "unchecks" automatically, and now at that point does not let me enable it (says I have to wait until the NEXT pre-season).

Why would this happen?

I saved right before Spring Training so that I can ctl+alt+delete and restart the game and try different things ... I've tried making sure "disable automatic free agents" is NOT checked ... along with "import historical rookies" (assuming that the game doesn't know the 2021 draft class).

All I'm looking to do is get a draft class. Why does it automatically uncheck itself? It gives me the options for the amateur draft during the preseason (e.g. number of rounds, percentage of junior college players, etc.), then once I get to Spring Training, is unchecked and won't let me enable since it's after pre-season now.

I wanted to move the draft into Spring training. But I had to wait till the season began. I now have it on May 31. Maybe try moving it into the season. You could set up another league and experiment with the changes, instead of waiting another league year.

There are no historical players in the db for 2020 or beyond (for obvious reasons).

So you need to uncheck 'import historical rookies' and set things up to have the game generate fictional players to move forward in 2020 and beyond.

Neither of these things are the issue. The issue is all of a sudden when I move into spring training, the box that says "enable amateur draft," that I have checked in the settings, automatically becomes unchecked and won't let me re-check it (says I must wait until pre-season). So I then have no draft.

Fwiw I did have "import historical rookies" unchecked as well as "allow fictional creation of free agents" or whatever that button is. So the draft should be all ready to go, if it would work

This may be obvious but have you looked to see if the Draft was simmed?

I actually deleted it and started a “real MLB” game, rather than historical, which interestingly still does the same thing (automatically unchecks the “enable amateur draft” box), but this one actually does have the draft class imported anyway.

However I am also confident that if I started another historical league in the same context, the same thing would happen. As I tried that with a test after posting the original thread
