RIP Tommy Heinsohn

2020 takes another one. I've been listening to this guy call Celtics games for about 30 years. An unabashedly pro-Celtic perspective, but always with good cheer. A Legend as a player, coach, and broadcaster, and a favorite among fans, and players past and present. RIP, Tommy!!!

For the last 30 years we just know him as the semi-crazy grandfather who lives and dies on the Celtics broadcasts. Most of us are too young to remember what an incredible player he was.
He was also an incredible HOF level coach and college player.
He packed multiple lives into one lifetime. Basketball will miss him.

As a Lakers fan in my youth, I remember fondly hating him and Red Aeurbach for many years. A great contributor to the sport. Sorry I never got the opportunity to hear him as a broadcaster.

This is tough, we lost an absolute Legend in this city & region! A 10X champion in Basketball as Player (8) and coach (2) and a All Time broadcaster. Tommy is/was the heart & soul of Celtics Nation....he will surely be missed and NEVER forgotten!

I'll always remember the Philadelphia crowd singing "Goodbye, Tommy" after he got ejected from a game once.
