I like the current setup with 40 teams in Perfect. What I don't enjoy is the rapid promotions in the beginning.

If they add 2 more levels to make 10, what should be added? What's can be below Rookie? Intermural league? College? High school? Pre-Rookie? Pre school? Spring training league?

I think the Minors would come right before before being a Rookie.

112 wins is 2nd best in the entire 30 team league, but not good enough to win my division, so I will face the dice roll of a wild card game in the morning. Divisions s***! Methinks 16 teams should make the playoffs like the Perfect League. The biggest surprise for me is my pitching staff allowed only 568 runs. That smashes my personal diamond league record by 119 runs. I almost broke down and bought points, but someone bought the card I had my eye on, so that person is Magpie MVP!

And here is game 1 of the DS! The pitching staff is reverting to the mean, although they did much better in games 2 and 3 to sweep the Blue Rocks.

Was an interesting week, Corsairs won a silver league championship and face chastising for their hubris by being promoted while the Subway Rats got humbled in gold and relegated back to silver. The Scum ended up 82-80 in silver and seem to be trying to avoid the silver-gold seesaw lol.

The Justice were relegated back to Gold this week after going through a moderated rebuild. By moderated I mean I sold off several cards that were in platoon or bench roles that had continuously underperformed at Diamond. Relegation wasn't the goal since I kept nearly all my core players and started them as normal and I will almost surely be back in Diamond next week as I have a 65-16 record so far. Really didn't not expect this wide a gulf between league competition between Gold and Diamond levels considering my team even before selling off several less valuable players was becoming an under .500 win team at Diamond. I'm hoping to pick up a couple key players to keep me up in Diamond for good and in the playoff hunt, but even with my earnings it will be difficult to come by on the ever depleted Auction House. I was thinking about finishing off a couple off missions but wow, talk about a bare cupboard on the AH block. The developers might need to boost the rate of some of the diamond and gold level historical cards as a "stimulus" package of their own since there are less players actively playing and buying or winning card packs.

So I decided over Thanksgiving break to add another team. I took Magpies advice and did the Live missions. I took advantage of the black Friday points sale and did some upgrades for cheaper FOTF players under 40K. and just a few others.

In this Rookie league I am the only team that did the live missions. There are a total of 26 Diamond and above rated players in the league and I have 25 of them. This second team can probably compete in Gold, but would be a relegated team in Diamond. But in Rookie I never imagined how well this team would do as shown in the attached standings. My team was the starting all star team. I always wondered how a decent team would do in the lower levels.

Seawolves are the normal playoff contender in Diamond. This Lefty cheese team added Carlton and Newhouser from the recent Collection missions. But really needs FOTF Pedro, Walter Johnson Ty Cobb and the latest Ruth addition to seriously compete at the Perfect level.

Hey, I did that too! Except that I bought a new license and created 3 teams

Mine are FTP, but otherwise the same strategy: see how fast I could jump out of the gate. All three teams have completed the Live Missions and have a combined win percentage over .900 in the Rookie League. Card pulls so far haven't had too much of an impact on any of the teams, as each has pulled a Live Perfect and one or two Live Diamonds that serve in backup roles.

As for my original 3, all remain in Gold, but this season's competition isn't quite as stiff as last year's (at least for 2 of the teams). The Cluckers are in the wildcard hunt, the Irregulars are on pace for 94 wins and have a 7.5-game lead in their division, while los Perros are on pace for 108 wins, which is enough to maintain a 3-game division lead but ranks them as only the third best team in the league so far

Thank you! How many live bronzes did you pay 120 for? They may have been mine.

I definitely did overpay for some when I was getting close to finishing a mission. Not sure how many non-Dodgers I went that high for though.

My packs team quick sold over 160k PP worth of live bronzes in the week . I couldn't quite keep up with my AH sales...

Would've been a lot better if they could somehow have gone for L7 to players who wanted them, but no chance!!

Going to be a quick stay in Diamond this time I believe. 12 Diamond titles and a PL title between 3 teams in my division.

Back in Diamond and overachieving so far at the moment as I have yet to make use of my near 700K in points from my minor rebuild, but the auction house is definitely slim pickings right now. Man I hope they reduce the cost of historical packs to 5K for X-mas so we can get a much needed influx of historical cards into the market. I opened over a 100 packs and only got one Gold historical card and it wasn't really a historical card (Future Legend). All other historical cards were silver or below.

Hi Def Inning Achievement

Stephen Strasburg struck out 4 batters in an inning (I lost the game as well). Posada had two passed balls in the inning as well. It netted me a unique 2.5K achievement--I believe that is the most I have gotten in a loss.

This has been my week so far in diamond. Fall behind early so I decide I want to train a player at a new position more quickly. He usually is a solid platoon vs. LH but struggles against RH however to train him quicker I decide to just start him against both. The team proceeds to win 8 straight, so I abandon training and go back to platooning since I had taken a wild card spot. I then lose the next 8 so go back to training where I have once again won 7 in a row.

8th trip to the Gold playoffs, 5 times the one seed. 3 times in the WS. This time with a 3-1 lead in the Series, and still 0 gold titles.FOTF Price pitched a gem and Maddux blew it in the ninth to make it 3-2, and then FOTF Seaver and FOTF Plank pitched awful games to blow it.

Yeah, my FTP team flew up to Diamond and stayed there most of this PT season, aside from a few one and done relegations back to Gold. I think a lot of us who were returning FTP players did because we knew some of the basics required to build a competitive team on a limited points budget and also because the pack pulls were pretty generous at the beginning. That and the Live mission card set made it even easier. Next year, I am just going to take it slow and bank my points until October unless I strike it really rich on a card pack pull. I hope we get a few more levels and I too like the way they had a single league filled with mainly the Diamond level champs from the season before. It was my goal to try and get there at least once for a season of punishment but I don't think its in the cards now. Those super topper FOTF Hornsby, Cobb, Martinez cards closed the door on that when they came out. Closes I got to the Perfect league was when I was in a Diamond championship but fell short 4 games to 1.

I feel the pain of trying to improve a team when improvements are north of 500K even if you can find one to buy with points in hand. I suppose I should be happy with my team as constructed, but I keep pressing on forlornly. Last week the tale of woe was falling behind the West Michigan Whitecaps by 9 games early on and whittling that down only to be thrust back each time I got close. As late as Sept 9, I was 5.5 games back, but somehow equalized the score after game 161. This followed a missed opportunity on the last day when we both lost and game 163 saw Trevor Hoffman turn a 2-1 lead into a 14-7 (!) defeat. All's Well That Ends Well, though, as I got to the LCS before dying whereas the Whitecaps succumbed in the DS. So, that makes 20 consecutive Diamond League playoffs, although my string of 100+ win seasons ends at 10.
