All Star Game on same night as other games

I'm running a fictional league and this season the all star game is coming up and it's on the same day as games with virtually every team in the league. It kind of takes away from the immersiveness of the game for me.

I realize I may not be able to fix it for this season but how can I next year?

in an historical game i recently had going, that situation would not allow me to advance, and/or crashed. Had to restore game back a week ( i make a backup EVERY week of play, for the just in case scenarios). i then canceled the All-star game and all went well. In fact, the game got played somewhere in the background, as the results showed up in an email. Very weird.
only way i know to avoid it is when the schedule is released in March or so, is to manually delete game or find an off day for everyone and slot it there. Better solution is to search the Mods board under schedules. Joe from Chicago has amassed a great collection of schedules, and probably there is one that would work for you, or maybe you could request someone to make one for you, though there are less people doing that. How they manage to create a schedule is beyond my comprehension, but they come up with ones that work great.
hope some of this helps. best of luck.

I was curious about the schedules if they would work for my league. I guess I need to check that part of the forums. I just didnt know if there was a setting I could change in the game to move the game to a different date.

Yes, I had this happen in my fictional league during the current season as well and you can change the scheduling of the All-Star game so that it occurs, as it should, within the All-Star break.
If your issue is anything like mine, the schedule still properly had the All-Star break but for some reason the actual game was not when it should have been. (This had never happened before in my fictional league and I didn't change anything that should have caused this, so it is interesting to hear that I am not the only one seeing this and it does make me wonder what might have caused this.)

I did not notice the problem until after the All-Star squads had already been announced and then when I changed the date of the game to fall in the middle of the break, as it should, this caused a re-setting of the All-Star squad announcement as well. Mostly it was the same as the first announced squads, but as there were a few differences I went in and manually selected the teams to match the first announcement.

So if you go into your league settings, the options tab, then scroll down on the right to the All-Star Game Settings you can pick the date for the game, making sure it falls in the middle of the All-Star break.

You can be sure that once my league's next season schedule is created I will check right away to make sure this lines up correctly ahead of time.

EDIT: So I probably should have made clear that this worked, other than the oddity of having two slightly varying All-Star squad announcements, and the All-Star game did then happen when it should have and no All-Star game was played on the date that it was originally scheduled. So I assume if you catch this early enough and make sure the game itself is scheduled for the correct date, everything should go swimmingly.
