1996 World Cup of Hockey

I just saw the specs list for FHM7.

Will the 1996 World Cup of Hockey be one of the old tournaments available? If not, hoping the non-NHL players in the tourney will be available to create it anyway.

I believe that was called out specifically in the stream as being available.

I believe Jeff actually said "Coming Soon." World Cup of Hockey isn't quite in yet.

The list looks like this right now:

In at release: All the Olympics, Summit Series (72 & 74), the 5 Canada Cups
Coming in updates: World Cups, probably the 79 Challenge Cup and Rendez-Vous 87
Future versions (not necessarily 8): World Championships, WJC's (going to require a lot of database work to flesh those out, and there are other database priorities that they'll need to get in line behind)

Any chance we could get the 8 exhibition games from the '76 Super Series integrated into the NHL schedule?
Would be cool to have the 3 pre-Summit Series exhibition games included as well (2 games - Canada vs Sweden, 1 game - Canada vs Czechoslovakia)

The tours were by Soviet club teams, which aren't represented in the game and don't have their full rosters available in the database (and we can't do club team-national team games yet, so that's not an alternative) so no Soviet NHL/WHA tours yet.

For the second one, I'd like to do it, but it would be awkward to implement - we'd effectively need to create a separate "tournament" for those three games. I'll have to think about how we could work around that.

Soviet league in historical mode would be nice addition down the road...

Jeff, for international tournaments, will it be possible to change the rosters to reflect those who didn't play (i.e. adding Dominik Hasek for the Czechs in the 1996 World Cup)?

Yes, roster choice is up to whoever's controlling the team, the tournament rosters aren't pre-set.

This is going to be so much fun!

- What if Hasek played for the Czechs?
- What if Hakan Loob played one more time for Sweden after retiring earlier that year?
- Would Team USA have been even better with Jeremy Roenick?

Just a thought, but you could include the 3 exhibition games under the one tournament, and just have a toggle button to show standings/stats with and without (default) those three games. This type of implementation could allow exhibition games to be included for all these types of tournaments, as these exhibition games add more depth to the tournament.
