Import Historical Player

I am in the middle of season 7 of my save. There are a few favorite players I would like to import into my league, Robbie Alomar for one. Can this be done, and how would I go about it? Thanks.

Yes, you can import historical players in OOTP. This video from OOTP Developments will walk you through how to do it.

I'm not getting same sequence as video presents

Fictional league, four historical teams. One of the team's rosters is missing a key platoon OF and I want to import him. If I search for him in the search control, he does not show up (no one outside the existing rosters of the four teams shows).

When I follow the sequence in the video, I get to define the location of the historical_players.ODB file. In the video, the program serves up a "Historical Player Import Options" window, but that doesn't display when I import the odb...nothing does. Then when I look in my free agent universe, that are only four players, none with a name:

I know I'm doing at least one thing incorrectly. Does it have something to do with it being a Fictional League? Or are there multiple instances of the ODB and I'm pointing at the wrong one? Or or or?

Thanks, in advance; knowledgeable advice appreciated.

I think it was Garlon who posted in detail about the best settings to use for this, but can't find the original post. I have been using his settings for ages and they work really well.

They are as follows:

REAL STATS
POTENTIAL: PEAK SEASONS
FIELDING: CAREER
PITCHER STAMINA: CAREER
IMPORT REAL-LIFE L/R SPLITS: ON
ADJ HITTERS: 120
WEAKEN HITTERS: 100
ADJUST PITCHERS: 25
WEAKEN PITCHERS: 18
