Pitches vs Stamina

In my current season. I've noticed that while stamina has stayed the same, pitchers can throw a lot more pitches before tiring. I'd say at least 20 pitches for starters. I play out all my team's games and watch the fatigue bar for every pitcher. Is this a common evolution?

Re the bold. No idea, but does league evolution do this? Do you have league evolution on? I believe there is a notification given.

It might help to say what type of league it is. I don't see it in any of mine at all but they may be different.

Are you playing historical? (and if so, what year?)

I think it is called a save league. Started out with MLB year 2018, am now playing 2025.
I have evolution turned on. But I never received any notification. Weird this is I first noticed the change in August not opening day.

So the game logs for your pitchers should be informative. Can you screenshot several pitcher game logs showing an average +20 pitches per start for your SP starting in August. If this is a global change, SP from all teams should show a similar increase.

This probably has nothing to do with it, however, I think it's good general knowledge to have. Let's say you have Mariano River as your set-up reliever or your closer. And let's just say that Mariano's Player Profile screen lists his Stamina as 40 (using a 20-80 scale).

Mariano Rivera is at 100% full strength one day and you decide to bring him in. He doesn't have the greatest outing and he ends up throwing 30 pitches. After the game, Mariano is now at 30% strength remaining.

Now go into MLB > League Settings > Stats & AI > General Strategic Tendencies > Pitcher Stamina

Chances are it is set to Normal. If you switch that to High and go look at Mariano's Player Profile screen, he will probably show 45% strength remaining. Likewise, if you changed that setting to Low, Mariano's Player Profile screen would probably report 23% remaining. These aren't exact numbers, but I wanted to show how that Pitcher Stamina setting affects all pitchers.

I'm playing in 1995 and that season defaults the Pitcher Stamina setting to Low. I've never played a sim that started in the recent past and is now being in the future - You probably have the option enabled to automatically adjust the league. Perhaps what you've experienced is an automatic behind the scenes league settings adjustment. I doubt it since you've stated that the pitcher stamina changed in the middle of the season. But, I think this is still good information to know.

Good luck. I hope you find out exactly what happened.

Simple question. Has anyone else seen an increase in pitches thrown before a pitcher gets tired?
