Auto save directory error.
I posted about this on discord, but, hopefully someone will see it here:
I'm getting an error suggesting I delete everything in my autosave folder manually, but, I can't find that folder? My save folder is currently empty, but, I'm still getting the error. It started after not playing for a few months, coming back, installing the newest patch, and then that killed my saved leagues. I get the error whenever I leave any mode, be it PT or a single player save. |

Ok, I looked more into this, and I found three different locations that the game was trying to save leagues to, and I eventually had to completely uninstall and reinstall the game to get it fixed.

I'm having this problem after moving to a new computer but can't find the setting in the game to change. How do I change it? I'd rather not have to reinstall and not even sure if that will work since I just installed the game last week and have been playing a lot of PT

Sorry to ask twice but I can't figure out why it's doing this and it's driving me nuts - every time i enter a tourney or go back to pt it is trying to save I'm seeing it quite often. Which auto-save folder? Which dat file? I've tried removing read-only but it just becomes read-only agan.

So when you get this message, it's because the game can't write to that folder for some reason. It could be because it's trying to save to an external drive that's not connected, because the auto-save folder doesn't have proper write permissions and is blocking the save, because an anti-virus or something else is blocking the save, because you're out of disk space or one of several other less common things. The first steps you'd want to take would be to make sure OOTP (and the OOTP data and saved_game folders) are whitelisted in any anti-virus or anti-malware utilites you use. Then make sure when you start and run the game it's running in admin mode. Also, make sure you have plenty of free space on the drive OOTP is trying to save to. If you do all of the above and are still having a problem, the next step would be to submit a support ticket so the support team can walk through some troubleshooting with you to figure out just what is likely causing the problem. You can do that by going to the link here or by sending an email to support@ootpdevelopments.com
