For the past month or so, I've been reworking my jersey and cap template. The most noticeable change to the jersey template is how I deal with the scripts across the chest. You will notice a bit of an extra gap just to the left of the buttons. This is to compensate for the rendering in OOTP: there's a distortion there that squishes letters. The jersey files look slightly odd because of this gap, but I think the rendered uniforms look better. It might not be to everyone's liking.

I changed the cap template to something more standard, mostly because the one I was using didn't really match the style of the jersey template.

I edited and re-uploaded the jerseys and caps of all the uniforms above. Here are their renders.

Washington, D.C. has a Cherry Blossom Festival. I've only seen the cherry blossoms here in the state of Washington, and it's a spectacular display indeed.

Had West Coast Cool Jazz in mind with the nickname. Love me some Gerry Mulligan. The away uniform is inspired by the white-on-black pinstripe uniforms of the Chicago American Giants, though the glow-in-the-dark color scheme ended up resembling that of the Asheville Tourists.

I enjoy word games (crosswords and other puzzles) and often fiddle around on Quinapalus. There's a particularly useful search function there, and one way I use it is to attempt to find euphonious team nicknames. I take a city name, break down it down into sounds, and search for other words that use the same or similar-sounding letters. This method generates a ton of nonsense, but in looking through it I occasionally find a word that I would not otherwise have considered as a nickname. This search looked for words that contained most of the sounds in Milwaukee: m/n, l/r, w/y, k/g, au/aw, ee/ie/ey. One of the results that popped up was gaudy green.

I liked the sound of Milwaukee Gaudy Greens as a team name, but I had never heard of the color. Google did not provide a definitive answer as to its shade. Merriam-Webster defines it as spinach green. The Online Etymology Dictionary mentions that the word gaudy might come from "Middle English noun gaudegrene, name of a yellowish-green color or pigment, originally of dye obtained from the weld plant." I still don't know what shade gaudy green is supposed to be, so I matched a dark, spinach green with a lighter, yellow-green for the team colors.

I chose Excalibur Nouveau for the font.
