Very longtime league, looking for a few owners
- League name: The Antiquity League
- League URL: The Antiquity League - Home - League type: Historical (currently Off-season 2008-2009) - Number of teams: 28 - OOTP version: OOTP21 - Ratings: 1-20 - Sim Speed: M-TH, 7-8 says per sim, approx. One Sim Month per Real Week. - Special Rules: Uses financial, coaching, modified medical, three minor league levels, MLEs for all players that ever played in the majors (and many that didn't) and several Japanese players, talent change randomness very, very minimal, NO scouting My league, the Antiquity League, is a twenty-eight team league that has been together since 1927 (Eighteen years and counting!). We have an extremely solid core of owners drawn from a variety of professions and acquaintances. Until our recent expansion, we had to replace only one owner in the previous sixteen seasons and that was due to his death. We are NOT a fly-by-night group of 19-year olds, but instead we are mostly older professionals. We have owners in their late-20s, many owners in their 30s and 40s and several that are now in their 50s and 60s. Our league forum is on Facebook, Slack and I also send out hand-made group emails after each sim. The Antiquity League draws from the 30 major league teams, in addition to using many players that were career minor leaguers (using MLEs for minor leaguers), plus we add about 5-10 Japanese League players per season. From 1927 to 1957 we were a a DMB league, but we switched to OOTP for the 1958 season. We sim approximately thirty sim days per real-time week and complete approximately four seasons in a calendar year. The league uses four levels of minor leagues, coaches and financials, but not scouting (and only a modified doctors system). The league webpage can be found at The Antiquity League - Home. All of our available teams have had caretakers, so you won’t be taking over a team that is in shambles. We are just starting the 2008-2009 off-season so you would have plenty of opportunity to improve your squad. The available franchises are: Strong team Kansas City Monarchs - * A 1997 expansion team, that won 82-or-more games every year since 2003. In 2008, the won 99 games and cruised into the playoffs. Excellent young core / farm system in a competitive division. Their farm system ranks mid-tier only because they’ve recently promoted a bunch of excellent prospects. * Best players starters C.C. Sabathia, Jon Lester, John Lackey, Brandon Morrow, relievers Jeremy Affeldt, Pat Neshek, C. Miguel Montero, IFs Robinson Cano, Justin Turner, Ryan Howard, OF Grady Sizemore, * Minor league system: 10th (OF S.VanSlyke, P P.Hughes, IF J.Lowrie, OF D.Stubbs, 3B I.Stewart, P S.Gallagher, P, A.Cashner). Drafting 24th in June 2009. Competitive Oakland Oaks - * They’ve now ending their rebuild and stocked with good young players and a solid farm system. Tough division. * Best players are all in their prime, including Ps Aaron Harang, Joe Blanton, Braden Looper, Eric O’Flaherty, C JR House, IFs Alexei Ramirez, Neil Walker, Adrian Gonzalez, OF Ryan Braun, Denard Span, Justin Upton) * Minor league system: 8th (2B J.Altuve, OF J.Upton, SS I.Desmond, P M.Shoemaker, C. S.Perez, C. W.Rosario, OF J.Reddick, 2B C.Getz, P W.Peralta). Drafting 14th in June 2009. Montreal Expos - * After a couple of years of winning 90 games, the Expos have resorted to a .500 team. Their lineup is a bit weak but their farm system is strong and ready to contribute. Plus, there are opportunities to win in this division. * Best players are OF Josh Hamilton, C Victor Martinez, OF Jayson Werth, 3B Pablo Sandoval, SP Jason Hammel, Chad Gaudin, Oliver Perez, , relievers Eric Gagne, Matt Lindstrom, Joel Hanrahan). * Minor league system: 7th (SS J.Kang, P M.Latos, P K.Jansen, P K.Jepsen, P B.Peacock, P C.Tillman, IF L.Albuena, C JR.Towles, P W.Davis). Drafting 9th in June 2009. Rebuilding Seattle Rainiers - * Seattle has struggled under a mediocre owner for many seasons. Under excellent caretaker leadership now, they are undergoing a rebuild. What their farm system lacks in premium prospects (aside from Rizzo, Brantley and Betances) it makes up for in depth. Tough division. * Best players are pitchers Hung-Chih, Kuo, Luke Hochevar, and Joe Kennedy, , 1B Mark Teixeira, OF Mike Morse. The starting team performs better than it looks but it still not good. * Minor league system: 18th (C. J.Lucroy, 1B A.Rizzo, OF M.Brantley, P D.Betances, C W.Castillo, 1B L.Duda, OF D.Young, P R.Porcello, P G.Holland, P B.Rondon, P J.Familia, P A.Ottavino). Drafting 5th in June 2009. I take an inordinate amount of care on the Antiquity League and I think that you will be very pleased to be a member of the league. Thanks for your time and consideration, Anthony Giacalone giacalone.anthony@gmail.com Commissioner: Antiquity League and RLPA Pre-boot Owner: St. Louis Flyers |

Oakland still remains unclaimed. It's a good young team. Hit me up if you're interested.

If Oakland is still available, I'm interested. I have experience in several online leagues, and have done well in startup fictional leagues. You seem like you have your act together as Commish, and I grew up as an Oakland fan, so it seems like a good fit. I'm 63 and retired, and in no other online leagues now, so I have the time to devote to this. Thanks for your consideration
