Player not clearing waivers

I have twice put player on waivers because he is out of options and I wanted to send him to minors. No one claimed him after three days, and when i tried to send him to minors I got message telling me he is out of options and he needs to clear waivers. This has happened twice now.

Third time was a charm. Not sure why did not work first two times though.

I'm having the same problem with waivers. I did waive and DFA a player, but even when I advance the calendar it continues to show him as having 3 days left for waivers. I can't remove him from waivers, it says I have to DFA him. But it says I can't DFA him until he clears waivers. These players are in purgatory. I wonder if I can even release him.

If you turn on commissioner mode, you should just be able to move him to a minor league team using the editor, which should take him off waivers.

Thanks. I'm playing commissioner mode, but when I try to move him, I get the same error message saying he needs to clear waivers first. I turned off waivers entirely in the Game Settings / AI menu. The manager option to view players on Waivers then disappeared, as did the news item that there are scores of players on waivers, all stuck like my guy. But when I located my player via search, and tried to do anything with him like send him down or move him back to the parent club, it says I can't. So I guess he is just gone. Fortunately, he isn't too important but anyone out of options is apparently lost to me unless I want to keep them on the parent club all year.

I decided to just release this player who was permanently stuck on waivers, and the game let me do that. Then I decided to offer him a minor league contract. I'll see if he accepts, in which case maybe I can send him down to my AAA team. Unless he refuses.

If you move him in the editor, rather than on the transactions screen the game won't check waiver status or care about it.

Same now that he's a free agent, you can always just move him back to your minor league team by using the editor.

Lukas this is happening in my league now too. Is this a known issue? Seems like sometimes the waivers are not working properly. Thanks.

I don't think it's a known issue as such, in that it happens often or consistently, but of course sometimes things can go wrong especially if you've changed anything to do with the league's waiver and roster rules during the course of a season.
