Down to the wire again this week, but things look bleak when you can't hold a 5 run lead against a team that is 33-108. This team has beaten me 7 (!)
times this week, with 3 more to play. |

Meanwhile I'm just waiting for this season to end. I'm hovering around .500 now after being near the relegation pool in mid-July when my team went 8-18 and didn't when a game that month until July 13th. I have no idea what is wrong with my offense this year, but when Yogi Berra is leading your Diamond level team with a 2.3 WAR in mid September and he has played in half as many games as the majority of your starting lineup that ranks near dead last in every category, one tends to say WTF!!!

Looks like a trademark Magpie September collapse in progress...
EDIT: No worries, we won all 7 remaining games to win the division by 2 games and even ended up with the best record in the conference. . Last edited by bailey; 11-08-2020 at 01:42 AM. |

Haven't paid too much attention for a month, logged in and I'm in game 7 of the world series. Clicked to hide scores, waited for the sim to end and watched a WS victory. Can't say I'm super excited but a win is a win.

All 3 of my teams are working very slowly through the diamond FOTF missions.
The Cluckers had a decent season in Gold, just missing out on the playoffs. Next season will see new addition FOTF Craig Biggio manning second. The Irregulars had a strong 98-win season in Gold that didn't last far into the playoffs. The team is still working towards its first FOTF reward card. Los Perros had a combination of relegation to Silver and the addition of two FOTF cards--Al Kaline and Roberto Clemente--that turned a mediocre outfield into a potent one and a struggling Gold team into a Silver juggernaut. The team won 115 regular season games and steamrolled over the competition in the playoffs, winning the finals in a sweep for its second title--and its first since the 2026 season!

Mission successful! Next goal - above .500 in Diamond. Only finished 4 games out last season. Little by little...

I think I am one of only 2 teams without a FOTF Pedro in the Perfect league? Seawolves are hoping to be at least a 500 team in Perfect.

Dan Brouthers was pushed to a backup role after Ty Cobb joined the team. Today, he made the most of one of his rare starts: |

Brouthers I seems to be too good for the bench! The only player I have worth over 200k in the AH is FOTF Gwynn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Out of the 40 teams in the Perfect league, here are the most common players used:
Batters: 37 Rogers Hornsby FOTF 37 Jackie Robinson SE 37 Tony Gwynn FOTF 35 Ty Cobb FOTF 35 Joe Mauer FOTF 34 Cal Ripken Jr FOTF Pitchers: 38 Bob Feller FOTF 38 David Price FOTF 36 Warren Spahn FOTF 35 Tom Seaver FOTF 35 Walter Johnson FOTF 34 Pedro Martinez FOTF 34 Trevor Hoffman FOTF 34 Eddie Plank FOTF I only have 5 of the above, but many teams have all 14. Something to consider if you want to compete at the highest level.

I've got 11 after inking Trevor Hoffman just moments ago. Howry just wasn't getting the job done as closer at diamond level, let alone perfect. The players that get me are the ones that have all of those and 30 other perfect cards in reserve.

I am assuming Feller is usually used as the Stopper/Closer?

Yes. He has the very high stuff in the game as a reliever.

Hoffman is an early bust, just as bad as Howry with 3 blown saves in a row. Slow start as been re-defined to extend to the half way point in the weakest division of Diamond .373. The leader in this division would be at least 7 games behind in any other division. Nevertheless, I think the stats indicate a better second half.

Its become clear now that the Justice have reached their maximum level of FTP potential now that we are several weeks past the last of the God like level mission collection cards such as FOTF Martinez, Johnson, Cobb, Hornsby, etc have come out. Even with some boosts to my offense I can't compete against a growing number of teams at the Diamond level sporting these elite pitching staffs unless I can snag at least two 300k plus costing offensive players on the AH. Just not feasible with the more stagnant offseason market. Second Thursday in a row where I find myself just a few games out of the relegation pool. Last week I finished just strong enough to climb to a 82-80 record. Not hating against the pay for play guys, I knew this was going to eventually be the reality, but I was hoping for at least a few more weeks of being a 90 plus win team and being a playoff contender.

Seawolves have a 1.9% chance of making the Perfect playoffs going into the final month of the season. The 8-18 July really hurt the team's chances of remaining in Perfect next season.

The Magpies were playing "hot potato" with the division lead with the Atlantic City Aces until the middle of August when that team finally had a major losing streak. My streak of six consecutive diamond seasons with 100+ wins is in jeopardy, though. Also, my record would put me 2.5 games back of the wildcard in the other conference. |
