historicl game

This is drivin me Crazy!! I have created a historical game 5-6 times so far because i just cant figure this out.....
For some reason my game has no minor leagues.I'm playing in the year 1910 and i seem to have my settings but after i start my game i go and look for no minor leagues...normally when you start your game it gives you the option to have single A, double or triple A but in the historical I'm not getting that option right...Like I said I have tried over an over probable i have tried to get this correct for over an hour and this is part of the game that I just love playing.....so can i go back into settings and change something where I can add my minor leagues or what can i do? please help me!

I started in 1901 (now 1903) and I have AAA, AA, A, and Rookie, no problem. I think it's because I decided NOT to have historical minor leagues by unchecking these two options, and selecting AAA, etc., during setup instead:

Notice, though, that historically the game does not provide for minor leagues until 1915 (it uses reserve rosters instead). So maybe by setting that in-game option to "Import and maintain real minor leagues," you may get your wish when you arrive at 1915.

To test, save your league someplace, set that setting, and sim to 1915 to see what happens.

Follow-up note: I play a hybrid of historical and fictional. Historical MLB but fictional players. Not sure if that means anything here, but just in case.

How do you go about playing with only fiction players and what is the benefit of this?

HOW: Start a historical game; under Roster Functions, click Clear Rosters; as commissioner, delete all free agents (the real players now in the free agent pool); back to Roster Functions to choose Fill Teams with Fictional Players; click Clear Rosters again; and this time Schedule Fantasy Draft. Also, set historical options as follows (no real historical transactions, rookies, etc.):

WHY: I like the history of MLB as a background, including team moves, expansions, statistical trends, etc., without the distraction of knowing the players beforehand. That way, I don't have an advantage of knowing how good Ty Cobb will be and/or am disappointed when he doesn't live up to his real life performance. There's no Babe Ruth in my league that I know is going to dominate the league. Instead, I have my eye on a guy named Ken Conner (80/80 power) who led the league last year with 9 home runs! (It was 1902.)

By the way, you have neglected to mention whether the advice that I gave you earlier about historical minor leagues was on the mark.

Heh, I assume you mean "hat." Although taking your hate off someone is also a good sign.

Good guys inspire other guys to aspire. Much of the forum participation and contribution that you see around you is inspired by how Markus, Andreas, Matt, and Lukas have conducted themselves above and beyond the call of duty over the years.

In response to your PM, these are the other screens where options reside that I talked about for creating a historical league with fictional players. Note that in the second screen, you will not see that "Actions" drop-down menu unless you choose to be the commissioner in Manager Options. (Also, I have no free agents right now because my league is only three years old.)
