fictional league draft problem
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forums, but not necessarily OTTP games. Ive noticed a problem that a perfectionist like me is having a hard time with lol.
Anyways, I spent a lot of time (More time than I'm willing to admit) making a brand new 12 team Canadian Baseball league, complete with a 2 level minor league system (a AA Level and a Rookie level). I set up everything to how I envisioned it rules wise. When I get to draft settings, I was kinda amazed with how in depth you can get. I set my amateur draft to be mostly highschool players with some college players mixed in. My league has a minimum age of 18. I go to the fictional player creations settings, and set the ages to 18-22 to reflect my draft pool. This is where I run into problems. I play out a full season and some of my offseason. Finally my draft pool is released. While the age limits (18-22) are correct, the levels do not match the age. I have a draft pool filled with 21 year old high school seniors, 20 year old HS juniors. I also created the next 3 future draft classes too. I can go into the editor and edit the birth years for every player... that would take forever though. Now I have 2 questions. 1. where did I go wrong? I clearly mad a mistake somewhere when it came to either setting ages, or setting up my draft to begin with. 2. If a solution, or my mistake gets discovered and fixed, is there any way to delete my entire leagues draft class and the following 3 years, and have the game regenerate them with the new settings? If it is just a standard amateur draft (no feeders), then there is no reason to set any age limits. The High Schoolers will be mostly 18, with a few being 17 or 19 and the College kids will be mostly 20 to 22, with a few being 19 or 23.

Ok I will try taking away the age restrictions. But what about my 2nd question? Is there anyway to delete my existing draft pool, make the change, then have the CPU generate a new pool? Or will I have to wait 4 years before it generates a a new one? |

What date are you at right now in your league?

As long as you are before the draft, and not at draft day already, I am pretty sure you can just delete all the players in the draft pool and then a new class will be generated on draft day. Make sure to set both age limits to 0 before draft day.
Also, make a backup, just in case things do not work out.... |

Just an observation. I noticed while going through my 2023 draft class, everyone was 18 and a HS freshman. If I was to lower my min age to 15, would that fix the issue? That way with my new draft class, freshman will be 15, seniors would be 18, ect. Would that work?

Just set the age limits both to 0 and you will be fine. Why do you want to complicate things, when there is no need? |
