A few years back, I saw a what if thread of potential expansion franchises. The team I was intrigued with was the Orlando Sun Rays. What if Orlando had been chosen for expansion in either 1993 or 1997. After all, the Orlando Magic were becoming quite popular in the early to mid 1990s with their young nucleus of Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway. I decided to design some alternate jerseys for this team. Then, I cleaned up the logos to the best of my ability and designed caps and traditional home and away jerseys too.

Hey, man... Look I’ll admit, if Nike called me up and said they will give me $1 million if I put a Swoosh on every jersey I make for OOTP, then I'd probably say “Hell yeah, how big do you want it?” I mean, each man has his price... Just ask Rob Manfred... and like every NFL owner. Heck, Rob Manfred’s price is so low, you could probably buy him for $50!

My latest project takes us to a 1990s's redesign of the Houston Astros to blue and gold. I started with making the alternate jerseys. Satisifed with the results, I ended up expanding the project to include the home/away, trying to make them as clean as possible.

Vancouver Grizzlies Jerseys
Up next is another potential expansion team in the Pacific Northwest. I always liked the Vancouver Grizzlies brand in the NBA. I figured I would reuse this defunct look for a potential MLB team in beautiful Vancover. I took the wordmark from the defunct basketball team and created jerseys for them from it.

Vancouver Grizzlies Logos + Caps
Here are the Vancouver Grizzlies logos that I am using. They were found on the internet and I cleaned them up for OOTP use and resized them. I also designed and recolored 2 caps for use too.

Vancouver Grizzlies Update
I was not 100% sold on my first uniform set. I went back to the drawing board and was able to isolate the "Vancouver" script for a more classic away jersey. For the home, I was able to have it just say "Grizzlies" so that it is more traditional for baseball. I will leave the old jerseys in Post #10 in case anyone prefers. Here are the updates (as of 11/6/20)

A bonus Halloween treat!!! When reading about defunct teams that never were created...sort of along the lines of the Orlando Sun Rays, I came across a football team that was discussed: the St. Louis Stallions. In 1994, the New England Patriots were considering a move to St. Louis. The Stallions main colors were purple and gold, which is a color scheme unique to an OOTP expansion franchise. After a ton of research, I was able to track down some wordmarks and logos to try to clean up. The logos and home wordmark are not of my creation. Instead, they were taken from sources of what the real St. Louis Stallions prototype team were leaning towards using. The away wordmark was a classic St. Louis Cardinals away font that I modified to be the colors of the Stallions. It took a long time, but I am finally satisfied with my final product and wanted to share. I will start with the jerseys:

Last, the St. Louis Stallions logos and wordmarks. They took a long time to clean up for use in OOTP. I am attaching the wordmarks in case anyone wants to create other alternate Stallion jerseys. Hopefully, you enjoy this mini Halloween project and someone can use the set in one of their leagues. It was a ton of fun to bring this concept to life!!!!
