Customizing World - Cities
Looking for some help here. I have one game saved using a customized nation (added cities to Bermuda).
I want to create a new game, and use the same world/import the cities. I have tried copying the world.dat file; but, that doesn't work. The OOTP manual indicates there should be a cities.txt file saved under the 'data database' file saved in the OOTP installation directory. I cannot find a 'datadatabase' file/directory, or a cities.txt file anywhere. Has anyone had success importing cities and/or nations? Thanks |

That sounds like the old setup, I guess they haven't updated the manual.
Everything is now in the world_default.xml file within the database folder. |

I have also attempted to copy that file, and paste over it - again - no success. Seems like I'm missing something that should be easy |

Unfortunately, there's no way to copy the city list to other game files. If you edit the world_default.xml file, you can use that as a default or import it into other games, but there's no direct way to export the xml from one file to import to another.

Thanks Matt. I also realized that I forgot to re-import the world database in the global menu after trying to copy/paste over the world files (realized this after re-importing names files); but, I had already spent a couple hours re-entering some cities.
