Any reason not to sign loads of free agents to minor league contracts
Hi, so I'm new to both OOTP and baseball in general so apologies if this is a dumb question: When I look at free agents at the start of the season there are loads with decent/good potential while most of the players in my rookie or A- teams have half a star potential and poor current abilities(according to my scout). Given that minor league contracts don't appear to cost me anything is there any particular reason I shouldn't just sign up all these players, shove them into my minor league teams and see how they get on?

They aren't going to develop unless they get playing time, so unless you are going to have a spot to play them it doesn't do much good to sign them.
Also, how old are they? At a certain point (somewhere around 24 or 25) it becomes much less likely they will do any developing. |
