Historic transactions question
Is it possible to set up a custom league but have the real transactions for a team?
For example the 88 dodgers traded for a John Tudor from the cardinals. The 91 braves traded for RP Pena. So can I have a custom league with a bunch of historical great teams against each other but still have the teams make the trades the same date as they did in real life of that year? Or how do I start with the end of year roster but have that team play a full season? |

1 - not possible
2 - not possible (unless you're in commissioner mode and you're willing to move all the players manually) |

1. Dependent upon the number of all-time teams for which you're willing to manually make historical transactions, and/or... 2. If you limit the transactions to the ones that are significant. IOW, using your '88 Dodgers as the example, the trade of Pedro Guerrero the Cards for John Tudor is significant. The trading away of Bill Krueger to the Pirates (for future 12-game major-leaguer Jim Niedlinger) is probably not significant. And the trading of Shawn Hillegas to the White Sox in exchange for Ricky Horton, may or may not be significant, depending upon your definition of significant ![]() So if you have a 16-greatest-team league, you might be needing to make somewhere along the lines of 20-40 manual moves. Personally, I'd be cool with that. YMMV, though. Good luck, if you decide to try it! |
