A biggie needed - EDITED

Sorry to mess you around but I have decided to evolve this league from a smaller base over time. This is the edited form of what I am now seeking to begin with.

2 subs / 5 divisions of 10 teams each / 100 teams in total
  • 88 games to be played in series of 2 on Thursday thru Sunday at 7.05pm, starting on the first Thursday of March
  • Alternating home weekends / road weekends
  • 4 games against each of the other nine teams in the same division = 36 / 18 series
  • 52 games in 26 series against a random selection of teams in your sub-league, differing from season to season (which I think automatically happens once the schedule has been loaded?)

I would like an All-Star Weekend as close to the halfway point of the season (IE Week 11 of 22) as possible with the HR challenge on Saturday and the ASG on Sunday, again at 7.05pm please.

Many thanks in advance.

The size of the league isn't an issue, easy enough to get around that with some Excel tricks. But there's one part of the request that doesn't work - perfect alternating home/away weekends for each team. (Consider two teams in the same division who both start the season at home. If they always alternate home/away it's impossible for them to ever play each other.) I can definitely do my best to try to minimize consecutive home/away weekends, but it mathematically can't be perfect.

Thanks for replying mate, I was actually going to PM you about this because it's going to be a bit of a running project as the league expands.

I'm not overly fussed about it being absolutely perfect, especially as you rightly point out it isn't mathematically doable (didn't think of that did I!). So as close to is fine with me. The conferences are aligned geographically so travel time isn't real a consideration I'm worrying about too much, especially as it's just a fictional.

Appreciate your input.

G

PS That round robin one you did for me is in its first season of use and I'm not far away from all the intradivisional games starting so can't wait for that!

Sorry about that. Things have been a little wild in life lately, had to put OOTP stuff on the backburner for a little while. (Got a new job about 2 months ago and haven't really adjusted to having a lot less free time yet lol) Anyhoozle,

----------
Schedule for 100 teams, 88 games - 2 subleagues, each with 5 divisions of 10 teams
Interleague NO, balanced games NO
----------
4 games vs. 9 division opponents (2H/2A)
2 games vs. 26 subleague opponents (2H or 2A)
Should be a good mix of opponents, every team plays at least 6 series against every other division in their subleague
----------
All games are played between Thursday-Sunday each week
Season begins on the first Thursday of March and ends on a Sunday between August 5th and 11th.
All-Star Game scheduled for the halfway point of the season, which is in late May
All games are at 7:05 PM local time
----------
Teams always play a whole weekend either home or away, which consists of 2 series back to back
For the most part, teams will alternate home and away weekends, though as mentioned above it's not always possible to. Still, they'll alternate more often than not. No team ever plays 3 straight weekends home or away

It all looks right in my test league but LMK if you have any issues

Man you're a legend. Thanks so much, will check and come back with news.

I've got the full expansion for this league planned out so I might PM you with the details of the later scheduling requirements so you can have plenty of time to work on them if that's cool?

Hope you're enjoying the new work situation, congrats!

TBH I can't really make any promises. If there are further schedules you're gonna need, feel free to post about them here of course, but there's quite a backlog in this request forum at the moment & I'd like to make sure everybody gets helped
