The relief pitcher for Detroit, T.Johnson was gassed. He threw 142 pitches and got lit up for 42 runs yikes. Was he the last guy in the bullpen available?

Also, the date of the game and the liberal substitutions used by Minnesota, leads me to believe it was spring.

Detroit should have had a lot of pitchers available

I figured out what happened after I lost 66 to 1 two days later. As you know it was spring training but what I had forgotten was world baseball classic year so it took several of my relievers and I was depleted with 3 relievers and 4 starters. And lineup was weakened as well with only 9 hitters. The odd part no injuries WHEW. however had there been a injury I probably would have noticed it earlier. My fault entirely. I let AI play out my spring training games.

The worst loss I ever suffered was 34-5.That was my ill-fated year as general manager of the 1914 Philadelphia A's.

I wasn't managing either team, but this is the worst loss I've seen.

1872: La Paliza

Of course, given the year, a lot of it is caused by errors, wild pitches, etc., but my favorite part was imagining how nuts an 1870s version of Cut4 would go for that bullpen management.

Yes, tournaments during spring can really deplete teams and maybe should generate some kind of extra error message for the sim crowd? My team didn't start playing until the world tournament was almost over, but there were still like 10 guys missing from my team and I needed to fill in with rookie ball guys to make sure they had a full complement.
