Too many Passed Balls and Wild Pitches
Been playing a 2016 season with default settings. Im getting numerous PB and WP in the games I play. Cant see if same is happening in AI simulated games.
In general I see at least 2 WPs/PBs every game. That seems way too high. |

In testing playing out games I thought I was seeing too many as well, but then I compared the numbers and they weren't very much off at all. In fact, one of them was under, not over. Maybe something has changed since then, but you should provide hard numbers to prove to anyone that what you're seeing is indeed off.

It's possible your pitchers or catchers' skill level are affecting things. Or maybe you are simply getting unlucky.

This feels like an old argument and one I have brought up here before. I have had high numbers of PB and WP in every version of OOTP I have ever played. It only happens in games played out in one pitch mode but it is awful and extremely frustrating as I have lost countless games due to it. This is the same response I always got but it does in fact truly happen and continues to happen in 17, at the same rate as every previous version I have played (lots of versions). Still a tremendous product though year in and year out. But this does exist and always has.

I don't know for sure if wild pitches/passed balls are happening at a realistic rate overall, but they do seem to result in a run scoring far more often than in real life.

If you have a league where this is happening please upload your files, following the instructions found here and post the name of the file in this thread! |

For stuff like this, I can say that the logic is absolutely the same when you play out a game vs when you sim games, and the overall numbers of PB/WP are correct when you look at the numbers over the course of a season. It's simply a question of having a very long memory when you get the ones that cost you runs or games, and not remembering all the games where you don't get any.

Same for the OP. If you see 2WP and 2PB every game then post screenshots of 10 consecutive games (cropped if necessary) showing those numbers. It should be easy to do. Then post the WP/PB totals from Team Stats in-game just so we can see if the league wide rate/games played is correct. Consider that if the OP had 2 PB in every game, they alone would account for 324 of the 342 PB recorded in MLB 2014
