Historic Mode to Regular Mode?
Hi I am new to the game and the forum. I tried to see I this was covered on the forum already but couldn't find it so here is my question.
When I start in historic mode in year 2000 for example, I understand that all the drafts are predetermined with the picks that were originally picked going to their correct teams. But what happens when I reach year 2020? Does the game continue? And if does how do the subsequent drafts happen? Does my game basically turn into a standard game with new drafts and eventually new players generated for future drafts? Also is it still possible to play Historic save with Challenge Mode turned on and get achievements? Thanks |

Okay, Historical Mode can change depending on your options. If you choose not to draft, players will be assigned to their correct teams. When you hit "future" years, players are simply assigned I believe. However you can turn on the Draft ability, and players show up in their draft years and can go to whatever team that drafts them. Drafts do become fairly sparse as you get closer to the present (as it's only players who have played in the NHL, so in the newest years you may only have a first round, or even just a handful of picks). Drafts will be fictional, but players will be able to continually populate the player pool so the game goes on.
To be clear - The Historical Mode does not suddenly change into "Regular" Mode. The databases are completely separate. You can play in Challenge Mode and get achievements, but you may want to do the Historical Challenges to get specific ones. |
