Over 120 packs straight and not one 90+

Did 40 packs this morning, First 25 got a Live diamond, thinking it was javier baez?, quick sold him and bought 15 more. Ended up with a Live Flaherty and my first Perfect, a Gerritt Cole. Funny how excitement can be crushed instantly, but at least I finally got one. Will probably break even after everything is said and done.

Honestly, I thought the OP was exaggerating, but now my diamond-less streak stands at 98. I was so desperate, I did challenge mode for the first time in 5 weeks. Still no diamond, but....

Well, I'm glad you didn't get anything from your Twitch Drop packs . Needless to say, I'm VERY jealous, but I did get a 100 Shoeless Joe earlier - from 104 packs though.

It feels good when you wake up with a couple of packs won from Bronze tournaments you set up before bed. It feels even better when you pull a PEAK Old Hoss Radbourn (97) card from the second pack. It feels even better when you are confident enough about your staff to put that card up on the block to get points to work on other holes.

I want to feel bad for the OP but it's hard to when there are so many sob stories of misfortune rehashing the same thing. I tend to find these funny.
It's usually someone threatening to quit because they didn't get what they wanted.

Go down to the your local convenient store buy 20 lottery tickets. Tell them if you don't win what you want in the first 20 they better guarantee you what you want on the next ticket or you'll stop buying them. They'll laugh at you just like I am. You should have just bought ice cream. Ice cream always makes be feel better.

This ultimately is what got me to stop logging in about 2 weeks ago. I was into multiple hundreds of packs with nothing. It just stopped being fun putting effort into grinding tournaments for nothing.

I seem to notice that you do not get as many Diamond cards in Gold packs or Standard. I have not got ANY this year in 21 or 20.

The stated odds are 1:150 for Diamond cards. Therefore with five cards in each pack (other than the guaranteed gold or bronze) you would expect to see a diamond card once in every thirty packs. I’ve had some droughts but overall I feel like I have been ahead of that pace in PT21 (knock on wood).

In fairness to the game I pulled 2 live perfects in a run of five consecutive packs this week. I thought I’d be fair in criticism. I still think some Pity timer might be kind but it does seem pretty damn random.

Of course it's random. All this thread shows is people generally go for long streaks without a rare pull and only hit one...rarely. Well no ****.

I'm currently on a long stretch with no diamonds, but I did get a Tampa Bay gold today which sold instantly for 55K. That's better than 12 live diamonds.

Let me quickly tabulate all the perfects that I've pulled... calculating... sorting... summing... exactly zero. That's for 21. I also played 19 and 20. Another goose egg for 19, and, OMG, I pulled 1 Perfect in 20! Wow!

I play a ton of tourneys and open a lot of packs. So yeah, it would be nice to have a safeguard against going through 3 years of this game and pulling one stinking Perfect card. I'm sure there are plenty others in the same boat as me. God, I'd be pissed if I was buying PP with this result.

For sure. I'll watch Kris Jardine introduce the new cards & I think I've got a total of one in countless packs. Maybe if only the week of introduction if they were far more likely to be pulled or something, it'd make them worth chasing... But about the most packs I can realistically purchase a week sometimes is just 5 or 6 some weeks... And usually if I do get a good card it's not in line with the "hype". This has been openly admitted so I don't really go crazy opening pack after pack. Of course I might if I could but it doesn't seem like the odds are the odds as far as the 1:1000 perfect, 1:100 diamond & so on and then everything else is random. There is clearly something else effecting the cards that come in the packs I buy...If it was entirely random outside of the odds, I would continue to participate in that lottery. But so far in 21 I have something like 600% more duplicates than my 20 collection.

So let's get back to the real topic, Diamond cards exist, but Negro League cards are a figment invented by the developers to get your money.

ha...they're rare. I pulled 2 late in OOTP 20. John Henry Lloyd & Cool Papa Bell. The other one I have is Biz Mackey, I'm not sure if I got him in a pack or the AH...For awhile they seemed not to exist.

One reason you don't get the card(s) you're looking for in packs is just the sheer volume of cards, but the thing that's bothered me a little in OOTP 21 is that I have duplicates of all of the common cards instead of at least collecting all of the common cards first if I'm not going to have much luck with the higher-rated cards. The best cards I can recall pulling were a Minoso diamond, Reardon diamond, Syndergaard diamond (2 of them in the same regular pack), and did pull Gerrit Cole's 100 rated card. Of course so far he's pitched merely alright at Silver & Bronze levels.
