Newbie
I only want to play this game (for the time being anyway) off-line. If I buy this game will it be installed completely on my harddrive, no on line or Steam needed ? Also is there a demo available? Thanks

BTW can you keep playing the same franchise from year to year, even into the future? In other words if I chose the Marlins in their first year can I play them from 1993 until 2030 or whenever?

I had a player who was DFA? The only things that I could do was release or shop for trade, nothing else seemed to work? How do they end being on that list and how do you get them off without trading or releasing them?

He already was on the 40 man and in the majors which it said was why I couldn't demote him to the minors which is what I wanted to do. Also what is the deal with the screen height? I know about changing the resolution but the height? The game looks and plays O.K. near as I can tell.

Sounds like he's out of minor league options. So your choices are Waive/DFA (if he's not taken by another team then you can assign him to the minors unless he has enough MLB time to refuse an assignment and exercises the right), put him on the MLB roster, or release him.
As far as how he got on the DFA list, uh, well, somehow you clicked the menu choice to put him there. |

New problem. A player I traded for was put in the minors when I wanted him in the majors. I clicked on promote him to Fla. (the MBL team) and he showed up on the roster and I assigned him to the position I wanted him to play (which is the position the game says he should play) and where I wanted him in the batting order. Now it's time to start the first game of the season and I can't because I get the message he is a spring training invitee. How do I make him a regular on the tram so I can play?

O.K. ever single player I thought I had promoted is viewed as a invitee and it looks like they will all have to be demoted back to the minors then offered a MBL contract before being brought back up???? If so that really destroys the team in the short term. Is there some other way to get out of the invitee problem?

I recommend you take a look at the manual. Specifically the section on roster rules to familiarize yourself with the basics https://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com...and_management The players you want to promote need to be added to your secondary roster before they can be added to the active roster. |

You are right but I hate reading on-line manuals. I have played BBM for years and have to say it's far more user friendly. That said while OOTP has a much steeper learning curve it does seem to have a higher realism value. Is it worth the trade off to me? Time will tell I guess.

What is the short list about? I know somewhere in the user manual there is an explanation of the short listing but haven't found it.
