Which owner goal is correct?

I noticed in my online league that in one location it says my owner's expectation is to reach the playoffs, but under the goals section it lists my goal is to be a .500 team. Which one of those two will actually be more important in making him happy (and hopefully giving me more budget room?)

The more you win the happier they are. But that might not result in a bigger budget.

Playing 500 is the short term goal and making playoffs is long term. You usually have 3 years to accomplish long term goals.

Yeah, further to that, you can see based on issue year and end year that they were issued at different times.

Sometimes the "short term" goal can stretch 2 years, and the long term one can vary a little. But basically, the long term goal above was to make the playoffs, if that one fails in the 3 years given, that's definitely going to hurt your owner opinion.

So if you do end up in the case where you're > .500 but miss the playoffs, he'll be happy for one goal, and upset at the other one. How much that costs you, only time will tell.

My recent owner's goal involves getting a home town player for increasing attendance, I suppose. That makes sense except that I've built a very good team that leads the majors in attendance. I checked. There isn't a home town player who can improve the lineup.

Billionaire owners are crazy

Just do what they say for a added layer of difficulty

Last year I had the best offense in baseball. Owner wanted more home runs

Currently doing this now. The only goal I didn’t achieve on purpose was resigning Hunter Pence.
