Competitive Equity
Our online league has discussions just about every single month about how we should address the competitive equity in our league. Some ideas that have been thrown around include...
- Draft lottery (not much support for this) - Draft pick tournament where the teams that don't make the playoffs play in a post-season tournament to determine draft order We are worried about owner retention and the ability for new owners to be competitive if they inherit a very bad team. What are some ideas that have worked for your leagues? Is the standard season finish determines draft pick order the best way to go about it? |

Best team not to make the playoffs gets 1st overall pick, followed by 2nd best, etc. etc. for all the non-playoff teams. Then reverse order for the playoff teams, like normal. Completely eliminates tanking and makes everyone push as hard as they can for wins.
