shortened 2020 MLB 60-game season along with its rule changes
So with the new version of OOTP being beta released today and official release in the next couple of days in time for opening day 2.0 are people thinking of a new save?
Which team are they thinking to take on?

I may actually try the Tigers. Lots of young talent coming and some additions of vets - they really should be a good bit better than last year. My thought is promote just about everyone a week into the season and play it out. You get Mize, Manning, Riley, Tork. In 162, they still miss the playoffs by 20-30 games. In 60.....
Of course, I might need TCR at 999 or something like that. Other option that comes to mind is the Padres. Same deal - they're coming, but no way they compete over six months. Here, you just have to win maybe 4-6 games that would have been lost otherwise, and you've got a shot. Good post question! |

So I am new to this game and cannot figure out how to get the season started with the new schedule and rules. Can anyone help me with this?

I just ran a 60-game sim...and the Tigers actually finish above .500, tied for the last playoff spot with the Astros...who beat Detroit in a one-game playoff, and go on to win the World Series!

Once the game is created, the new rules are enabled automatically. You can check them by clicking MLB > League Settings > Rules. Lt. Smash |

Just curious - Did they bring everyone up to start? Hard to imagine this as a playoff team unless they promote quickly.

According to the main update thread, it said to use Live Start in order to use players who may have been injured back in March, but are now healthy and will be playing in the season beginning today. (Also, players who have opted out for this season will be removed). Has anyone had any luck starting their season from Live Start -- I'm trying to start a 60 game Live Start Mets season and it fails and defaults to the 162 game season. I can start a non-Live 60 game season, but it has Yoenis Cespedes and Drew Smith with 7 weeks remaining on their injuries.
The error message advises me to check my network connection (I play FT all day so there's no issue there) and to "enable trace" to see where it might have failed. Where would that option be?
