Cardboard fans
Your opinions?
IMO, I think it's laughable. You gotta wonder what the players will be thinking when they're on the field. |

But, I will now Probably they will think about them for a minute then think about baseball The players, like the rest of us, because, of course, they are like the rest of us, will have differing thoughts. Also, some teams, maybe all the teams, are allowing people to pay to have their image placed in the stands. So $ There, I've thought about them |

Doesn't bother me.....I would rather see stuffed animals and such like the KBO is using though.
Honestly they could have a lot of fun with it, like playing a real life game of Where's Waldo. But it will probably end up being a way for the teams to try and make money by having fans pay for their cardboard cutout to be in attendance.

Be funny if teams had fun with their players like putting celebrities, especially deceased ones, in the stands.
"Is that Tom Hanks in right field?" "And look, Elvis is behind the dugout!" But it's gotta be strange standing out in the field and seeing all of the cardboard people looking back at you. |

It's silly, but ultimately I don't care.

There’s some potential for comedy there - celebrity cutouts name checked by the announcers, etc. But, even that would only be low-key funny once. Seems unnecessary, but I don’t think the presence of the cutouts will add or detract from my enjoyment of the sport. Could be a good opportunity to make some money though - fake celebrity cutouts to advertise a movie, cutouts of spokespeople (that insurance lizard comes to mind). Dunno - marketing folks could have a field day.

Besides - They already had Osama Bin Laden in the front row at a Premier League(?) game. Fans could submit images for the cutouts. I wonder which intern slept on that one, AND whether he's still employed.

This!
But you know that people will complain that it looks too empty if they don't and some of those same people will complain that it looks silly if they did it. I don't know about you guys, but when I watch a game on TV, I usually don't watch the crowd. |

I think pauwoo may be on to something here!
A cardboard celebrity in the crowd and the announcer says "Well, whaddya know? (Fill in celebrity name here) is in the crowd tonight. Their new show on FOX starts Saturday night at 9 eastern" ![]() IF that happened, which I doubt, I honestly would not be shocked, surprised or stunned in the least. Hopefully, I didnt just give some network person an idea here!

I watched a premier league soccer game and they were adding pre recorded fan noise. I assume they will do it for baseball too.
Maybe instead of doing cardboard players they can use technology to green screen fans in. These kinds of gimmicks will make me want to watch |

Its a way to involve the human fans. That's a good idea.

I thought this was going to be about baseball cards. Very disappointed.

Red Sox fans have been made out of cardboard for well over a century.
True Fact.

The SF Giants are offering folks to upload photos for fan cutouts for $99. At the end of the season, the get their cutout back.
The cutout can also sit next to ex-Giant's and celebrities https://www.mlb.com/giants/fans/cut-outs |
