I don't think it's hard to make the packs either, but so far they have shown they are not really releasing many different types of packs, so we kind of have to expect a system like that would have to work with mostly what's available currently. |

That column is what I saved off the average card price that I had budgeted.

I have no expectations for changes this year. The adjustments they made to the live missions In PT21 largely benefitted F2P players giving us a way to build stronger teams through some work. It did a good job at that but at the expense of variety in the teams. I’m sure that the team is looking at how to continue the evolution. The idea of SE packs and PEAK packs is just one idea, but I like it.

Live card missions are maybe a little too easy, why not to obtain 100% of cards in each teams to complete the missions?

Its like that in gold because for the most part those players aren't good enough for Diamond. In order to progress in Diamond you have to diverge away from the SEs and it costs a lot of PP and there is no real 2nd tier of worthwhile rewards from missions, so everyone is competing for the same few meta cards driving their prices up, or driving up the prices of collection pieces that would help your teams
Then if you get to Perfect Level you'll be sick of facing nothing but Speaker, Jackie, Hubbel , Anson, Connor etc

I think that would be going too far the other way. Somewhere in the middle may be better.

I enjoyed the live mission. The mission and the rewards were the best. The SE cards were deserving rewards. It meant you had to be active to at least make a competitive team. Pack rewards would be horrible. Nearly every pack (Diamond, Gold, or regular) will have at LEAST 75% live cards. PT2.0 Live mission did not reward that well as you had to buy every live card (including perfects) to get 2 Diamond packs for every division. Yuck!
Complete the Live mission, you create a nucleus to improve on. I can see lower levels having similar rosters because of this. But, upgrades are necessary at certain positions to become a playoff contender at the Diamond or Gold levels? Attached are 6 live mission cards on my active roster and 3 on my reserves. Some of the players I kept because the market price is too low to sell. After Live missions, the rest of the missions are downhill. Do I really want to spend over 1,000 PP for a mission reward of one regular pack? Make the mission rewards great again!

I like that for completing each team's live cards mission you get a historical star of that team, so how about team-specific historical packs? So completing say the Reds would get you a historical pack of all Reds players. That would probably be a greater reward then some of the easier ones that return like SE Cecil Fielder or SE Jay Buhner, but it would be less than some of the 4* missions currently are. I think all of the teams have enough history to make solid variety in their historical packs.
The only other issue I could think of is that it may make some of the "players from a former world series team" missions a little too easy. |

Like a couple of others had done, I sold most of the SE cards in an attempt to build a unique team that I thought would be competitive when getting into Gold and higher leagues. Even with some great pack luck in hitting ATL Koufax and Lajoie, I'm scuffling in my gold league, 11 games over trailing teams that are Live SE heavy. Two of the three Live SEs I have (Yaz and Yogi) were sitting the backups until now (if you can't beat em join em), and the third (Maddux) is my #5. I know, that's baseball, but I'd lie if I said trailing so many of those kinds of teams wasn't frustrating.

That's literally been the smart play since PT was introduced. Collections are for whales, buying single cards is for the F2P/cheap players.

I was f2p and finished almost every single collection in 20. Most have rewards worth more than the inputs if you put in the time to get good deals, and time is how the f2p player closes the gap

Maybe a symbolic reward like a silver or gold player and a small pile of pp to use?
Or tiered rewards and force a player to obtain all the team, including diamonds and prefects for top reward? Maybe a pack of an assortment of SE players? It would take a deal of programming, but I like the team affinity system concepts that mlb the Show has. You do the collection, but also have other tasks to do in order to move up the ladder to the better rewards (and they add more tiers as the year goes on). Examples are like log 250 innings with Padres, pitch 40 IP with padres, hit 5 HR with padres C, 3b or 1b, etc... missions of that sort could force people to play a bigger variety of cards trying to unlock different things. There are prizes along the way like pp, players, and packs. Could have all sorts of gameplay type "missions" in ootp tied to individual players, accomplishments, etc...

What's the maximum you're willing to invest in collecting cards leading to one regular pack? (vs. selling the cards).

Around 750 points but that is assuming that none of those cards can be used in anything else, which was never the case in 20. The single pack collections finished themselves as I collected cards for everything else.

In fairness, PT21 collections have been very different. Live sets are good, some TOTD sets might be good, SE Jackie is good. But a much larger fraction of the collections are poor value so far relative to PT20, and the ones that are good have a much lower payoff than the good ones in PT20.

not this year, Live collections are so profitable and the rewards are better than you can buy at similar prices in the AH

tiered rewards would turn live collections from something everyone can do to a whalefest

Cheaper to just buy the reward cards for the most part still.
