Historical Setup Question

After being gone since OOTP11, I have finally made it my way back home and I am trying to catch up on how to do things.

Hopefully this isn't a dumb question. If I wanted to start a Historical League in 1983 and want players each year to be drafted to their original teams, but after that go wherever the game may take them, is that possible?

Yes. Disable draft and choose assign rookies to historical teams.

Ok thats what I did do, thanks!

One other question, if you don't mind, do I need to have Historical Transactions checked, or is that independent of Rookie Import?

Historical Transactions are if you want say Andre Dawson to go exactly to the cubs after 1986 and other FA moves, demotions/promotions etc. historical trades.
