IMO opinion its a different situation...
The Redsox bullpen isn't great to begin with..and Pedro is quite a bit better then Wood... still though he should have pulled him after the double |

I was just about to post the same thing.
Wakefield and Lowe should be the ones warming up!!! Timlin or Embree will blow the game I'm calling it right now. Little should be fired if he loses his game, didn't he watch Game 7 of Cubs vs. Marlins at all???

Oh yes, starters.
I do think he was in about 1 (2?) batters too long...but he didn't do it 2 straight games (ala baker). |

Seriously why isn't Wakefield warming up?
The Yankees haven't been able to hit his knuckler all series and considering it goes 65 mph, I'm pretty sure he's up to a 100 percent.

Wakefield wasn't up because of the uncontrollable nature of the knuckler. I wouldn't be surprised to see him enter the game either to start an inning or with nobody on. With the Red Sox history, couldn't you have seen him throwing a hellacious knuckler back to the screen to give up the take the lead run? He IS my favorite player but I wouldn't bring in a knuckleballer in that situation.

Great game, but yeah, it looks like Little let Martinez go on too long.
In Little's defense, unlike Dusty, he did have guys warming up when the inning started. |

Ahhhhhahahah.
GO GRADY. My 3 year old daughter would have taken Pedro out after the 7th. Jason

Grady Little single handedly cost the Red Sox the pennant. What a frickin' travesty. worst.manager.ever.

I just remembered this too.
Who's stupid idea was it to paint World Series on Fenway's field before game 7 even started?? That's just asking for the baseball gods to strike you down.

As a Yankees fan, I only have one comment. The real curse that the BoSox have is they have sh#%%y managers. In 1986 and last night, their managers blew the game. When I saw Little go out to the mound, I figured OK, Martinez is out. Hell, everyone figured that! It was a no-brainer. Of course, Martinez wants to stay in, but a good manager would have taken him out. Their pen had been awesome in the ALCS and Martinez was very shaky. I couldn't believe how lucky we were when Little sat on his ass after the next hit and still didn't take Martinez out. After that it was inevitable that the Yanks would win.

Martinez should've been pulled when Little made his first visit. Even I (who lost the last two OOTP world series because I too leave my starters in too long) noticed that the Yankees were getting some good whacks against Martinez.
