Preview - cavebutter's Gameday Utilities
You may remember from this thread that I was working on generating Excel-based depth charts from exported OOTP game data. It was good, but it was a very manual process.
I'm sharing a preview of an automated depth chart and game day workbooks I developed. They will be available for download and from Github soon in a not-very-user-friendly format. I will continue working to make these easier to use and to build out the features. But for now... The Gameday Utilities do 3 things: * Take all the csv's that get exported from the game and create (and maintain) a MySQL database * Create a workbook that contains a complete depth-chart for any organization in your game, complete with stats and charts * Create a Game Day workbook that includes the dates and probable starters for your next 7 games; your active roster's lifetime stats against that starter; lifetime stats against your opponent's bullpen; current year l/r splits for your active roster. More details coming...

Depth Chart
Not much has changed in terms of stats or design from the first post a couple years ago. However, it's all automated now.
Depth charts pull data from all levels of an org by position. 1b and 3b include all batters whose position is set to 1b/3b as well as every hitter who has a rating better than average at that position. The thinking there was that we want to see who can play that position, regardless of what we call him. Middle infielders are grouped together since there is often so much overlap. Outfielders ditto. Starters and relievers are separated out into their own groups. nb - the depth chart template occasionally drops chart titles. I'm working on correcting that, but it's like whack-a-mole. You can see the fields each chart refers to in the meantime by clicking on the chart. It will highlight the data used.

Gameday Utilities
The Gameday utilities give you a look ahead at your team's next 7 games.
Each workbook contains 8 tabs: 1 for each upcoming game and 1 showing your active roster's splits for the current year. Each Gameday tab shows your team's opponent, the handedness and name of the probable starter that day, and your active roster's lifetime stats against that starter. Down the right, you'll see your active roster's lifetime stats against their bullpen. Finally, the last tab shows some advanced stats for your active roster's L/R splits for the current year.

Future plans
Squashing a couple stubborn bugs, then working on rolling all of this into an executable application that can run on your Mac or Windows machine.
After that, I will begin expanding on what's included in the Gameday book. For that I need input. I don't like pitchers or thinking about pitching, so tell me what you'd like to see from a pitcher's perspective. There's so much data in this game, I've included the data I keep jumping out of game to look for, but I'm sure I'm missing lots. So please share! Next update (and a cross-post to the main channel) when the executable is ready to go.
