Starters Being Hooked Too Early

In one of the value-capped tourneys I do, I spend most of the card points on the offense and starting pitching, and put mostly scraps in the bullpen (which is pretty typical). To counteract the weak bullpen, I've chosen starters with high stamina ratings (90+), as well as high control ratings in order to keep the pitch count per batter low to hopefully squeeze 7+ innings out of them consistently. I also put the "Hook Starting Pitchers" slider in the strategy tab all the way to the right (slow).

However, the starters are nearly always pulled before even reaching 90 pitches... sometimes before reaching 80 pitches. Any idea what may be causing the quick hooks? It's pretty frustrating, as I thought I covered all the bases to avoid having this happen.

EDIT: I should add that this is a DH tourney, so it's not like they're getting pulled for pinch hitters.

Check your global strategy sliders. I would recommend you adjust those. Give your SP's more leash (turn hook SP to a slower setting) during innings 1-6 and then gradually adjust in the later inning settings. Granted, depending on how good your starters are will be a factor in how much leash you want your settings to give them (same goes for your relievers). See if that makes a difference. If you really have the time, and you are pretty set on your tourney lineup, you can set individual ones for each player so you can give your #1 starter more leash than your #4 or 5.
